Today is Black Friday, which is significant for two reasons. Firstly, it's a fantastic opportunity to watch people on the news literally fighting over relatively trivial discounts for electronics, which is as good a reason as any to keep the physical retail stores in an age where everything is ordered online. However, far more significantly for mobile gamers is the abundance of App Store sales that take place on Black Friday, as it seems that a vast majority of titles will undergo some sort of price reduction that will only last for one day. However, the sheer amount of games on sale can be difficult to manage, so to make sure that no one misses out on any killer deals, here is a round up of titles that have had their prices reduced in the past few days - while I have attempted to make this list as comprehensive as possible, there's a very likely chance that there may be some discounts missing, so make sure to post either in the comments or in our Price Drops forum so we can share the sales before the games return to their regular cost in the coming few days.

With such a wide variety of games reduced, there is something for everyone amidst the sea of sales for Black Friday on the App Store. The particular highlight so far appears to be Invisible, Inc., as the game hasn't been on sale before and is an essential purchase for anyone with an iPad who has a penchant for exhilarating stealthy turn-based action. Ultimately, regardless of whether you take advantage of these sales I'd stress a degree of restraint, as the very nature of the App Store suggests that many of these titles will be on sale sometime in the future. If your backlog is already incomprehensible, there's no harm in sitting back and watching the mayhem unravel. Those looking for some new additions to their iPhones, however, should keep an eye on this post, as well as our Price Drops forum and the respective Appshopper page for any further additions to this impressive Black Friday roster of discounts.

Update: As the day of sales comes to an end, a few extra additions have shown up on the App Store. Most notably, Alto's Adventure, Blitz Breaker, and Final Fantasy V are thrown into the mix, and all three mount a serious claim to your time and hard earned cash - just remember not to put yourself into crippling debt over iOS games.

  • Tallgeese

Not sure this line-up is ridiculous even by non-black Friday standards. What is ridiculous is Squeenix adding on an extra dollar for their Deus Ex Go "sale" when all they added recently was content users have to make themselves...

    • Michal Hochmajer

      You call it ridiculous?
Should I tell you dark and furious fairy tale about special time limited job offer in Mobius Final Fantasy? ๐Ÿ™‚
If and only if you purchase ingame premium currency for 75$ in next two weeks (doesn't matter, how much you already purchased), you will get average legendary job Tidus.
Yes, We love Final Fantasy for all those great characters THAT much...well maybe not so in this case. No one wants level up 1* goblin forever, right? ๐Ÿ™‚
JP version show us, we can expect 18 more such a jobs in next 12 months. And I don't think it's rediculous...just dumb. ๐Ÿ™‚
I am not complaining. They saved me 20 bucks, which I was ready to invest in around christmas as tiny present for myself (and I am not alone).
Nay, looks like I will support few small devs this year again instead. Probably not out of this list, as I already have most of them, so maybe tomorrow? See ya.

      • Tallgeese

Just buy a poster of Tidus, dude, or some teenage's scandalous Tidus x Auron x Bahamut doujinshi! Those will be around longer...

      • Michal Hochmajer

No! I will buy FF X on Steam and paint some Tidus x Auron x Bahamut henta...ehmm doujinshi by myself. Just kidding.

      • Tallgeese

Haha you make that and then you can subsidize your games as research for your new biz! GIVING THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!!!!

      • Tallgeese

Tironmut isn't for everyone tho... I guess... No worries, hard to not buy things we like sometimes...

      • Michal Hochmajer

Actually, I was surprised that some people purchased it. I mean Tidus in Mobius for 75 bucks, not Tironm...what?

      • Tallgeese

Tironmut is the shipping name for that particular "holy trinity." (Hooray for obscure Arrested Development jokes!)

      • Milotorou

Considering you can get FFXV for less than that, my choice was quickly made ๐Ÿ˜‚

      • curtneedsaride

Wow. $75?!? I bought the HD remake of FFX and the hard-to-find strategy guide, and had them shipped to me for WAY less than that. They are just missing out on all of the small $5 purchases I would make if they'd offer stuff for a reasonable price. Just ridiculous.

      • boydstr

I am seriously thinking that there are some developers out there that haven't a single clue what the mobile gaming community like to see in games.

  • Elton Bird

Just dropped Tennis Champs Return's VIP IAP to 99c/79p today too! And the Apple TV version to match!

  • Milotorou

Out there and Heroes of Loot, passed on them cause if the big backlog but at 99cents it sounds like a good excuse to make the backlog even bigger ๐Ÿ˜‚

    • OrangutanKungfu

Out There is moody and magnificent. I liked it a lot. Heroes of Loot 2 is just fun but definitely worth picking up.

      • Milotorou

well even if i dont fall in love with HoL its hard to feel bad about spending 1$ lol

  • David Pomerleau

This is a ridiculously short list of games

  • dancj

I've grabbed Forbidden Island and Forbidden Desert. It'll be interesting to see how they play without the human interaction.

  • Justin

Alto's Adventure was $3.99 yesterday and is $.99 today

  • Beavl

Hey there! Faif is also on sale! 50% OFF for a limited time.
And wow, so many good games on this list. Gotta grab'em all!

  • dothecollapse

    25 is "ridiculously" long?

  • http://mooseyard.com/Jens Jens Alfke

Um, Sproggiwood? $1.99. Haven't seen it in anyone's sale list, "ridiculously long" or not, despite the TouchArcade app itself informing me about the price drop a few days ago.

Also, this very, very weird puzzle game called TraptionBakery that I'd never heard of before, is currently free. (I think AfterPad posted about it.) I spent about an hour last night trying to figure it out. It's a very complex line-art drawing of a Rube Goldberg type machine (factory), that's interactive if you can find the knobs and levers. Has a very XKCD vibe, crossed with a silly very English sense of humor. I recommend it.

    • OrangutanKungfu

The Sproggiwood price goes up and down like a yo-yo these days. Not criticising, just pointing it out.

      • CarlRJ

There are some developers who constantly raise and lower the price of their apps - it stands out like a sore thumb if you look at such apps on AppShopper (up down up down ...). I think that they think that some people will see a drop (one of dozens) and buy, or perhaps that they'll pick up enough sales at one of the lower prices to inch up the "most popular" lists a bit, to get more sales at the higher price. It's all kind of annoying.

  • Akesycu

heh, grabbing that infinity blade 3... wanna check out this new 7 plus hardware lol...

  • neumanator

The Autumn Dynasty games are on sale as well! 1.99 each?

  • curtisrshideler

Finally picked up the last FF I didn't own already. FFV is only $6.99!

  • curtisrshideler

Sure wish they'd run a sale on FF Dimensions.

  • OrangutanKungfu

You can add Blitz Breaker to the list, down to a buck (79p) from $2.99. Been on my watchlist since release - might now have to pick it up.

  • zergslayer69

Was hoping chaos rings 3 would go on sale. Or some big ticket items.

  • Slimwiggins

    Coldfire keep is 99 cents

  • brerlappin

Both Star Nomad titles are on sale too

  • lezrock

Her Story is on sale too. 2,99โ‚ฌ

  • lezrock

Many tin man game books are at the lowest price of 0,99โ‚ฌ too.

  • doctorfab

    Alto is awesome

  • lezrock

Slitherine is doing a sale. Panzer Corps is for 4,99โ‚ฌ. Cheapest price ever. I'm tempted.

  • atalkinghamsandwich

Nobody can tell ME how I can or can't go into crippling debt!

  • akridge

Does touch get paid to add the games to a list ? Doesn't seem very long.... there were soooo many other games on sale as well but on no list..?

  • skylined87

Clarc, the robot puzzle game with the art style of Borderlands, only 99c right now. Best bet I picked that up, it's been watchlisted for a looong time ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ
