‘Bears Vs Babies’, Follow-up to ‘Exploding Kittens’, Should Come to Mobile in the Future

TouchArcade Rating:

Exploding Kittens ($1.99) was a great success both as a physical game and subsequently as a digital one. It broke all kinds of records and entertained with its peculiar sense of humor. And, of course, the art by The Oatmeal had a lot to do with the game’s success. Now, Elan Lee and Matthew Inman (The Oatmeal) are kickstarting their second card game called Bears vs Babies, and as to be expected, the game has already blown through its funding goal. The game set a $10,000 goal, and we’re currently at $1.5 million with 23 days still to go. So, it’s safe to say that the game will be funded along with the usual stretch goals.

There’s always a doubt whether a successful kickstarter ends up becoming an actual game, but these guys have done it before, so I’m pretty sure we’ll see Bears vs Babies in the near future. And Elan Lee has told me that the game will also get a digital version once the physical one is done, so we should expect to see Bears vs Babies on mobile in the future.

What do you do in Bears vs Babies? Well, you build monsters who eat babies! Whoever eats the most babies, wins. Bears are built silly part by silly part that you connect together into further silliness. The babies form a baby army that the players must stop using their monsters. There are also weapons and items you can use on your opponents’ monsters to weaken them so you can get to those yummy babies first. The game, of course, looks amazing, and I expect it to be hilarious.
