Upcoming ‘Headline Hero’ Cleverly Combines a Word Game With Current News

I like playing clever word games, and I also compulsively read current news. No wonder then that the upcoming Headline Hero caught my attention. As you can see from the trailer, Headline Hero grabs current headlines, cuts them into separate words like those old-fashioned ransom notes, and then has players have to put them back together in the right order. That’s a fun way of checking today’s news, and if you see a story that’s of interest to you, you can read it right in the game. Headline Hero has both a single player and a multiplayer mode which allows you to duel your friends.

While I do like the idea behind Headline Hero, I think it would be equally entertaining if the headlines were from The Onion as well; trying to figure out whether to go serious or crazy in your word order would add an additional layer of entertainment to the game. Headline Hero is coming out October 20th and will be free to download with a $0.99 IAP to remove the ads. And the game’s mascot is a very cute cat, which definitely doesn’t hurt in my eyes.
