‘Sentinels of the Multiverse’ Continues to Expand, Teases Season Pass 2

TouchArcade Rating:

If you enjoy superheroes, card games, and you haven’t played Sentinels of the Multiverse ($6.99) yet, I’d kindly suggest you remedy that. The great co-op (and solo) game is a lot of fun to play and is continually expanding its universe through new expansions and through comic books. Since it came to the iOS back in 2014, the game has given us DLC after DLC, and with Season 1 coming to an end soon with the release of Wrath of the Cosmos, Handelabra has started teasing Season 2. Just to give you an idea of how popular the game is, Greater than Games, the company that makes the physical version of the game, kickstarted the final expansion, OblivAeon, and while the original goal for the physical expansion was 40 thousand dollars, the campaign made 1.5 million and hit all its stretch goals. OblivAeon will be coming to iOS too (like all the other expansions) as part of Season Pass 2 , but that’s not all we’re getting with this new Season.

The information we have so far from the teaser posted yesterday is that Season Pass 2 will include Vengeance, Villains of the Multiverse, Mini Pack 4, Void Guard, and, of course, OblivAeon. Season 2 brings villains to the forefront by letting them team up just like the heroes did in Season 1. Baron Blade, the guy in the teaser above, brings villains together into a team, and that allows them to synergize in new and, hopefully, exciting ways. I like this idea a lot since it’s a relatively-easy way to make the game feel fresh without radically changing the gameplay. And what makes it even better is that the story behind the new season helps this new gameplay twist make sense. We should know more about Season Pass 2 in around 12 days (according to the countdown), so stay tuned for more.
