This week has been a little weird for game releases, but really when you stack National Cabbage Day yesterday back to back with Drink Wine Day today, of course something crazy is going to happen. That included Rayman Classic [$4.99] squeaking out at around 4:00 AM this morning instead of along with the normal pack of releases, and the highly anticipated Epic of Kings getting rejected by Apple and straight up missing its intended release window.

This news comes courtesy of their Facebook page:

There has been an issue with the approval of game meta data by Apple so the game will unfortunately miss the Thursday release target.

Posted by Epic of Kings on Wednesday, February 17, 2016

The silver lining of all this is that while they've got no idea when the game will actually get approved, as soon as it does, they're releasing it. Keep your eyes peeled here on TouchArcade, their Facebook, or our forums, as it's going to be a race as to who posts news of the game actually being released first... Whenever it actually happens.

Why must you screw with my emotions....

Eli, are you guys at all involved with the website (URL removed)? I just noticed that they're reposting all your content as though it's their own without sourcing TA at all.

Nah, there's tons of different websites that directly rip our content. We send DMCA notices to the more blatant offenders but it's sort of a losing battle most of the time as when one comes down two more spring up.

Unreal. I'd still keep trying and I'd shame the ones I could lol.

      • ZEROFACES

Crazy. I didn't even know that this was an issue.

Is there no copyright on your and others work that working at TA??its outright theft that's the way I see it.

There is, but the people doing this are almost always out of China or some other area of the world with very little respect for intellectual property. It's one of those things where I can choose to spend my day hunting this stuff down at very little benefit, or just do something productive with my day like produce more content for the site. 🙂

It's just as well. I'm still recovering from National Cabbage Day. Whoa boy.

  • LordShad0wz

Damn damn damn! I've been waiting for this one! I can't wait to hit the buy button! It's primed and ready! Damn you Apple!

Can "epic" be a noun? Annoying title.

    • skylined87

An epic, before the Internet gave it the meaning of "totally amazeballs" or "frickin' clutch" meant (according to wikipedia): a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the history of a nation. So yeah, they used it right. Less annoyed now? 😜

      • houseofg

Yes, ha, thanks! I looked at Merriam-Webster but that obviously failed me!

      • houseofg

Actually I failed me... Didn't scroll alllll the way down on their page. I seriously should have remembered this from studying The Odyssey in school... But oh so long ago

      • skylined87

Ah yes...the epic of Homer Simpson...no wait, just Homer lol

  • boydstr

How is the game played by virtual sticks?
