‘Gradius’ Meets ‘Wipeout’ Racer ‘Delta-V’ Gets First Content Update in Over a Year

TouchArcade Rating:

If you recall last year’s Delta-V (Free), it was a pretty fun futuristic racing game, kind of an interesting hybrid between Wipeout and, interestingly enough, Gradius. That’s thanks to the game’s powerup system and 2D shmup perspective and feel. While the game has laid dormant for a while, it’s suddenly gotten a content update that adds some new content and features. The new trailer shows off some of it:

Exactly, the update will have two new tournaments in the Champions and Legends tournaments. Four new ships have been added to the game, too. But another addition that should make the game feel better? Parallax scrolling, where the background moves slower than the forgeground, making the game have a depth that wasn’t there before. It’s a commonly-done technique, but this goes a long way toward making the game look and feel just a bit better. If you haven’t played this one, it’s still pretty cool, check it out now that the update is out.
