September Patreon Update – Still Alive

The TouchArcade Patreon is still kicking ass and taking names. We recently sent out the first of what’s likely going to be a monthly newsletter of sorts to our community which has us surging towards having 500 total patrons, which is a pretty rad number to hit. If you’re backing us already, we’d like to once again thank you for your support. If you’re not backing us yet, well, if you like what we do here every way consider tossing a couple bucks our way. The best way to think of it is like a magazine subscription. Did you used to buy Nintendo Power back in the day? Well, TouchArcade is really just an internet magazine updated all day.

Oh, and as mentioned before, we’ve got all the forum rewards implemented now. Since then, we’ve automated the process and will automatically pull in all the new backers around the first of the month when Patreon bills everyone. It should all go much smoother here on out. Oh, and if you’re enjoying our Mobcrush streams, well, that’s a reward that everyone can enjoy.

Our top backer this month, once again, is our pals over at FDG Entertainment. They’re doing all sorts of neat things lately. If you haven’t downloaded Sketch Breaker (Free) yet, you should. I played it a bunch on my flight to PAX, and while there’s a bazillion brick breaker-like games out there, Sketch Breaker does stuff different enough that makes it worth a look even if you’re totally tired of the genre. It’s free, and as far as I can tell, doesn’t have any pay walls or anything weird.

In other FDG news, Banana Kong (Free) is still absolutely ripping it up. It’s getting downloaded over 100,000 times a day and they’ve got a new update to the game that’s coming soon which adds a whole ton of new content and a totally new area to run through collecting bananas.

Anyway, once again, thanks a ton to both FDG Entertainment as well as the small army of other backers who are behind our Patreon. The success of the whole campaign has made the future of TouchArcade feel nice and bright, which needless to say, is a real awesome feeling.
