‘Broken Age’ Act 2 Still in Development, Spring Release Expected

TouchArcade Rating:

The world’s still waiting for the conclusion of Broken Age ($4.99), the point-and-click adventure game from Double Fine and Tim Schafer, who did Grim Fandango and the original The Secret of Monkey Island ($2.99) games. The game is coming along for a spring release, as Double Fine has just shared some new information on the progress of the second half of the game. Act 2 is written, voices are recorded, the gameplay programming is locked, and there’s just testing and finishing up of the game on all the platforms it’s releasing on to finish up over the coming months. Here’s the progress of the game straight from Tim Schafer’s mouth:

Act 1 released on iOS in the middle of last year, and unlike other versions, only the first act is included with the iOS version, Act 2 will be available as a separate in-app purchase, though the total cost will be cheaper than the other versions of the game, most likely. I thought the first act was a rather incomplete experience in my review, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the final product comes together.
