The time is finally drawing near when we'll get to download and play and enjoy Gameloft's latest mobile first person shooter Modern Combat 5: Blackout. We've already gone hands-on with the single-player portion of the game, and more recently dove into some multiplayer action at Gameloft's SF office, and basically I along with everyone else are anxious as all get out to finally have the finished product in our hands. Ahead of its release next Thursday, Gameloft has set live a brand new launch trailer for Modern Combat 5: Blackout, and I'll go ahead and let it speak for itself because it looks really incredible. Check it out.

In addition to the launch trailer, if you're dying to get even more of a glimpse of Modern Combat 5 and you just can't wait for it to release next week, head on over to Gameloft's Twitch channel. If you click on the video archive in the upper right you'll see that they've been quite busy this week with streaming the game. There are several new developer streams, including one from earlier today where Gameloft's San Francisco office battled it out against the Latin American office in Modern Combat 5 (I haven't seen who won yet, but go USA!).

We'll have plenty more on Modern Combat 5 next week, including a full review of the single-player portion of the game followed by a review of its multiplayer offering sometime after release once we've had a chance to play with a full online audience.

    Woot woot

like Jacqueline implied I'm taken by surprise that a
mom can earn $8130 in 1 month on the computer . see post Cashfig.COM

Who's Jacqueline? Is she single? I'm asking for a friend.

  • Samurix16

    Looks fucking bad ass!

  • VirtualBoyFreak

Also, if you fancy for a Modern Combat 5 spinout, check Asphalt 8 online tournaments: there's a Modern Combat 5 race in Venice which is worth seeing (combat helicopters flying around and shooting missiles at the Piazza San Marcos...).

    • ZarieoZ

They are also saying there is a chance of winning the game. But I do t know how it works with these tournament & what to do in order to win.

      • VirtualBoyFreak

I don't think so. There are several prizes, but all Asphalt 8-related

    • XzJ450NzX

Do you need a specific car? Pls say no..

      • VirtualBoyFreak

I play with the Lykan, and I think it's an S-class race.

    • thestapler

      WHAAT? That sounds incredible.

    Finally........... It is time.

  • Leguro

I'm going to have such an advantage using my controller on this. It'll be like when you're playing with host. I'll have faster reaction time than people just using the touch screen. >:)
I don't even have to use one of those retarded $100 controllers either. I can just use my PS3 controller.

    • Pyroknight

Imagine if you could use a mouse, get kicked out of every game for aimbot

      • Leguro

I wonder if there's a way. You can hack it for a mouse. I guess probably not, because a ps3 controller is just using mifi setup. Would be so funny online.

    • AlexMilo

You think you're the only one who uses jailbreak..?

      • Leguro

I do not. I do think we are in the minority. I also think that mifi controllers are the minority.

    • Himmat Singh

Don't be too sure. I used to play Shadowgun Deadzone extensively on Android, and I preferred the touchscreen to the controller. And I used to beat the controller guys (until Facebook came into the picture so people were playing with a mouse).

Fact it, aiming is MORE precise and your reaction time is actually faster with a touchscreen. Mouse > Touchscreen > Controller for aiming purposes.

However, the downside is mutitasking is poorer on a touchscreen. So for example throwing grenades, rolling etc are easier to pull off on a controller.

      • Leguro

I give you that. I'd say controllers are better at buttons (obviously) like grenades, melee, jump, and the stick for movement. I grant that the touch is a more precise aiming system though.

  • HippoHumper

It's games like this that made me finally take the plunge and buy a game controller for my iPhone. Still happy with my purchase months later and when this game releases I'm sure I'll be using using it on a daily basisZ

  • stolenlogic

If you're seriously not going to download this I feel sorry for you. Internet is nice, embrace the future.
So fucking excited to kill you fuckers on multiplayer next week

  • ChilLama

It's amazing how far portable gaming has come. Has it been what, 5 years since the first one? And the difference is astounding!

    • Der-Kleine

It has actually been 6 years, since there wasn't a Modern Combat game released in 2013.

  • AJShadowz

I notice a few people mentioning controllers. Has compatibility actually been confirmed? Because if so that (being able to play with my ps4 controller) plus no IAP is gonna make this game an insta-buy for me next week. 🙂

    • AlexMilo

Controller support will be available through jailbreak. MFI-controller support will be in a later update. 🙂

  • Chq

    Still waiting for pricedrop..

    • br4nd0n

      It's not even released yet...

      • Chq

        I know.

  • PresidentZer0

Will there be mfi controller support

    • Samurix16

      In a later update

  • ramireo

Judging from what we saw in multiplayer hands-on, I guess I'll wait to see some actual multiplayerganeplay and users review... I hope that it's not as bad as it seemed a few days ago.

  • Leguro

    Playing now. No controller support.... :'-{

  • pillsbury1

A good fps with controller support ! Yay!!!

  • alex13111

    Wish it had MFI Support

  • surirav

  • nimu

Alright so lets get this clear, even for single player MC5 will require an internet connection?

    • Bunthann Moeurn

      • hellscaretaker

thats going to piss a lot of people off ha ha ha

      • Bunthann Moeurn

Am sure it would, but it doesn't effect me since for this kind of game, I always play at home and not on the go.
