Last month developer N-Fusion and publisher Unity Games unveiled Space Noir, a visually impressive space shooter for tablet and PC with influences from classics like X-Wing, Rogue Squadron and Star Fox. Today, N-Fusion has sent along a new walkthrough video which showcases a mission form the game which includes combat as well as how some of the weapon and utility systems work on your ship. Like the reveal trailer, this walkthrough video shows just how incredible Space Noir is shaping up to be.

Space Noir is aiming for a summer release, with its target platform being Windows PC, but it's also coming to tablets. Though no specific devices have been announced, the iPad seems like a safe bet, especially with N-Fusion's previous work on iOS games which include Deus Ex: The Fall and Air Mail. I'm interested in checking out Space Noir no matter what platform it's on, it looks awesome, so keep an eye out for its launch later this year.

Reminds me a bit of Star Battalion only a lot lot better. Good looking game can never get enough space shooters as long as they're good ones.

  • Boris Nguetie

sadly the game will look nothing like this on ios!

    • sbnewsom

....yes it will. A couple of games already exist that look almost as good as this

      • MachineJXD

        Yeah like ANOMALY 2

      • Boris Nguetie

no it won't. i know more than a couple of games on ios that look better than surgeon simulator pc,sine mora, sonic 4 episode 2 etc...But did u see the graphics of ios ports of those games?! how half of effects are turned off ? i'm more than 100% positive the ios version won't look like this!

      • Lightning Storm

Plot Twist: That WAS the iOS port in the video.

      • Nekku

I don't think so. Xbox Controller Layout in the settings screen and it clearly says "Press A to start bounty mission" in the hangar screen. There aren't any on-screen controls, too.

Whatever, we will see what it looks like on iOS.

      • the_rebel14

Did you know that there are IOS controllers?

      • Boris Nguetie

yet none of them has a big X button in the middle. i'll take a wild guess and say that was an Xbox controller!

      • the_rebel14

        What about this one?

      • the_rebel14

        Or this one?

      • the_rebel14

        Or how about this one?

      • Design by Adrian

They are all of poor build quality, cost a fortune, and require iOS7.

      • the_rebel14

The poor quality and the price is why I own none of them. But they all have an "A" button. LOL

"Deus-Ex, The Fall" was a mobile exclusive handled by this studio that looked absolutely amazing on newer iOS devices. It's also being published by Unity so it's a safe bet it'll be using their engine which was tailored for creating multi-platform and mobile games without having to sacrifice features.

In short- there's no way you can possibly know how it looks until you actually see it.

      • apolloa

hmmm you say that but personally I think Read Trigger 2 looks better than Deus Ex does. But on that note Dead Trigger 2 runs smooth as, so this game will too on later equipment anyway.

      • Themostunclean

Maybe, both are still great looking games on mobile devices (although I'm not a fan of Dead Trigger due to the heavy freemium elements).

Also, DT2 uses Unity so that supports my argument that Space Noir could look awesome on iOS.

    • HansKaosu

There are games that looks just as good graphics wise. So it will look like this on iOS.

Upcoming 'Space Noir' Continues to tickle my 'StarFox' senses.

  • gamer1st

I would so love to play this on my iPad with a controller. DAMN YOU HARDWARE PEOPLE!!!!!!
    Where's my iPad controller?!?!?!?!?!

    • Wizard of Odyssey

They sell them at the Apple Store. Look for SteelSeries Stratus Wireless. Touch Arcade reviewed them a while back. Bring eighty bucks.

      • Design by Adrian

Basically, there is no controller (worth the price 😉

  • ansin11

Uhuhuuuu im going to get this 🙂 added to watch list 😉

  • ImJPaul

I'm gonna play this on PC for sure!

  • famousringo

I hope they can manage Sky Gamblers-quality tilt controls this time. I wanted to love Air Mail, but the lousy tilt controls killed it for me.

  • Anotherkellydown

Wow, this looks absolutely amazing! I like what they're doing with keeping the UI minimal yet still very usable. I'll be buying an iOS controller when this hits the App Store, and hopefully by then there will be higher quality ones available and maybe even lower pricing. Thanks for sharing, Jared!

  • stevearm

Looks really good. The only thing they need to change before release is the HORRIBLE way the ship turns around!

  • mike

name is kind of unfitting, sounds more like an rpg

  • demod1

    Looks great! Can't wait!

  • HansKaosu

    Cant wait to play this.

  • Design by Adrian

I can't tell if the ship is really large (and the mountains are huge), or it's going really slowly.

Also, that backflip would kill the pilot 😛

    • Themostunclean

It's the future, I'm sure they have some super pressurized, liquid lined, shape memory polymer/carbon fiber spacesuit that can resist the G-force. Or they just atomize the dead pilot and use a replicator to drop in a clone 🙂

      • Design by Adrian

I'd say internal Mass Effect field 😉

  • Cookies

The graphics in this could definitely make GOF2's graphics their bitch.

  • bigjack66

Cockpit view please! Why does nobody get this. It made Star Battalion and Strike Wing a whole lot better and Metalwars3.
