Drifter is a game we've been looking at since GDC 2012, following a successful Kickstarter and Steam Green Light campaign, the game is closer than ever to being done. The developers are still solidly in "When it's done" mode, but they're thinking it'll be done later this year. With so much talk of the PC version, it's neat to see the iOS version actually running:

The trick with games like Drifter is that you do so much in them it's hard to just show what the game does in a quick ten minute demo. Regardless, as someone who loves space traders, I can't wait for this one.

This game has taken sooooo long. I'm really hoping it's everything it appears to be. So excited.

I got the game and I can't wait 'til they add all the planned stuff into it.

Looking as fantastic as ever Colin :)

  • VirtualBoyFreak

The more I see, the more I want it. Keep it up Colin!

Please let his one be premium!

    • VirtualBoyFreak

AFAIK it's a premium title with no IAP's...

Eli definitely didn't SOUND excited. Lol. Hopefully, he'll figure out some sort of way to make it a little more fun. A cargo scoop or tea or beam looks like it'd be a help, huh?

Game looks too slow for me

  • Kiltedsheep

This looks absolutely epic. I love how you'll be able to choose whether to play aggressively or just be a peaceful trader. And look at how huge the galaxy is! I can't wait for this to come out. Instabuy!

Need an HD version of Escape Velocity

  • Unfrozen

It had taken a long time but every preview it looks even more amazing. So looking forward to this.

I'm completely with the developer of this game; keep the original plan of mass exploration and realism as much as possible. I'd love to be able to actually visit planets (very few space exploration games allow this)...and maybe also create an obtainable warp drive that can allow travel to VERY distant systems....even if the recharge time/rate/cost is extremely high. Make this game the AAA title I expect it to be! :)

I love this kind of game, but is it really set on a flat plane? That seems limiting.

    • darkcrayon

It is... More like "2.5D" instead of 3D. Can still be fun though, like Escape Velocity rotated 90 degrees.

Any news on this game ?

    • SystemX

I just searched this game out looking for the same thing.
