GDC 2014: ‘ESPIONAG3: Berlin Files’ – A Weird Augmented Reality Game

TouchArcade Rating:

Another thing we checked out at GDC was the augmented reality game ESPIONAG3: Berlin Files (Free). It feels a bit like a tech demo, but it’s really neat actually seeing an augmented reality game that uses a huge board space instead of the tiny little printed out hot spots that a lot of augmented reality apps rely on to know where to render things in game. We discuss how it all works and fiddle around in our hands-on:

ESPIONAG3: Berlin Files is on the App Store right now for free, and if you go to their web site you can download the map files or order a printed copy. You don’t see much augmented reality anymore, so it was neat to see this at GDC.
