I'm not sure how they do it, but @evleaks, the source of seriously every other iOS controller leak is at it again with the Razer Kazuyo. Like previous leaks, nothing is known about it aside from these images, but it's easy to make assumptions based on what we know about the MOGA Ace Power and the Logitech Powershell.

This one in particular looks a lot closer to the Powershell, and I expect it will work the same way with a single Lightning connector inside and some kind of battery pack with charging functionality. The unique feature of this controller seems to be the ability to tilt your phone in and out for a better viewing angle.

If you were hoping for a lower price iOS controller, sadly, I doubt this is it. Razer has had a somewhat notorious reputation for making very high-end and expensive gamer accessories for years now. Unfortunately, these awesome accessories also come with some pretty significant price tags. I could always be wrong, but my money is on this one coming in at the same $99 mark as the other two.

As long as it isn't cheap and janky..

  • err404

This design of controller is pointless. We have had excellent support for basic d-pad and face button controls since iCade came out. Any controller that does not support analog sticks is is redundant.

    • http://buzzabit.com/aaron/ Aaron Sullivan

While I understand what you are trying to say, I disagree. The new controllers will be compatible with 100x more games as compatibility is now guaranteed across many controllers. In other words, more than a handful of developers will support all of these new controllers.

      • Boris Nguetie

wtf??? do we really have to say more than " THERES NO F#@CKING STICKS ON IT"?? WHO IN THE HELL WOULD PAY 100$ FOR A NES CONTROLLER????

      • flashbackflip

        Dude, u r trippin

      • http://buzzabit.com/aaron/ Aaron Sullivan

Not sure what is causing the reactions to my reply here. err404 said there is no reason for gamepads without analog sticks because of "excellent support" since iCade came out. Since the majority of games _don't_ support iCade I disagree with his statement.

iCade will never be supported much (especially now) and all of these controllers are being made to the same specification so developers will be supporting all of them at once with one update.

Not sure what that has to do with price as I didn't bring it up and no one actually knows the price of this controller, there is only speculation. Not sure why I'm "trippin'" for saying it.

Furthermore, there are clear reasons to leave the analog sticks off. They add more bulk and to some portability will be more important, especially if they are more into old school games than fps games.

    • Hampus Jensen

Not to mention on-screen dpad and buttons generally work pretty well, on-screen dual sticks on the other hand is more often than not very good.

  • 61050

im trying to ascertain the signifiganxe of the cross instead of the "t" that starts the paragraph after the photos.

    • http://toucharcade.com Eli Hodapp

Haha, no idea where that came from. Tragic autocorrect disaster?

  • zerilos

No analogue sticks or iPad support. Think I'll pass.

    • Squablo

Oh wow!! Look!!! More sucky controllers that nobody wants!!! Awesome!!!! Again, Apple, this is NOT what we want! We want 10 buttons and 2 analog sticks, just like the standard controller layout for the last 15 years. My icade 8-bitty kills this thing at $20, and I can use it on my iPad. What's next? Game controllers for your unannounced iWatch? Yeah, because nobody wants to play games on a 10" screen. What a joke!

      • Cilo

Before you continue to have your heart attack, none of these controllers are made by Apple lol try reading comprehension, its pretty awesome.

      • Squablo

Apple sets the standards for what the manufacturers do. So, yes, their standards are dictating what kind of controllers we are seeing. Nice insult though πŸ˜‰

      • godofodd

As I understand it, the API allows for far more intricate controllers than what we have seen so far, including two analog sticks. I really do think this comes down to the third-party hardware manufacturers making poor decisions.

      • Squablo

Are you suggesting that Logitech doesn't know how to make a proper controller? They have a website catalog full of them for other platforms. Also, look at some of MOGA's controllers for Android. Don't you think it would be cheaper for them to just use an existing controller model and make it work for MFi? That would cost a lot less than making totally new models!

      • godofodd

I'm saying the current crop of manufacturers made bad decisions. Read the API for MFi controllers; the ability to have something like an Xbox controller is there, Logitech and the others have just chosen to go another route. You have pointed the finger squarely at Apple, when I don't believe they have had anything to do with these bad controllers.

      • Squablo

If I remember correctly, when they announced the whole MFi controller business, Apple showed two design concepts, and stated that 3rd parties would have to adhere to those specifications. All of the controllers released so far look just like those mock ups presented by Apple. These companies are being directed by Apple, as they need Apple's approval before they can be released. Therefor, yes, Apple has more to do with these controllers then some of you think.....Eli, correct me if I'm wrong.....

      • Tugais

        You're wrong, plain and simple.

As Godofodd stated in his comment, Apple API's offer far more options for supporting advanced controllers such as the Xbox or PS3.. Please before answering, check your sources. I know it can be annoying for some people to read such documentation but it worth it.

The fact that companies are offering low end gaming devices for iOS is driven by the desire to be the first on the market and try to get as much as possible of market share. As usual, this is not the right call. We'll have to wait before handling a serious controller. I really hoped that Razer could offer an alternative, sadly, I've been disapointed.

        We'll have to wait then.

      • Hampus Jensen

True. They did make a standard, that standard does however include two layouts. One you see above the other is pretty much a standard console controller.

  • iTester

    No analog .too expensive

  • Muggin

I don't understand why these controllers do not have dual analog sticks. With the prevalence of dual stick shooters and fps games on the AppStore you think it would be a no brainer.

The dual sticks would be my number one reason to get one of these.

  • Rusty

Interesting to see a second "non-extended" gamepad being built. Too bad the D-pad is obscured in the pic.

  • BoyFromLA

Just yesterday I returned my Logitech PowerShell for a refund. Extremely unresponsive D-Pad was the reason. Tested on Oceanhorn.

  • renzy18

Looks better but lack analog stick would been a dream xmas present , depend what they offer inside the device the more features the higher the cost, what lacks is
    analog stick
doesn't seem to be connecting to USB lightning
tilted screen toward you is nice but blocks view of buttons. i would love if they had slided upward then tilted backward for better viewing, less cramp on neck and less time looking down constantly

  • t0panka

Another """LEAKED""" picture? They "leak" it only to see what people say about it so PLEASE everyone comment everywhere your thoughts on it. For me: Are they retarded? Gaming brand like razer and they have only one analog stick? πŸ˜€ I was just scrolling through logitech controller "supported games list" and that is ONE SAD LIST!

  • GaZ-OiD

Can't see my iPad Air fitting somehow lol πŸ™‚

  • SoyGreen

    COME ON!!!

Can we PLEASE just get a wireless controller?!?! YES I want to play on my iPhone now and again - but I have an iPad BEGGING for a controller!

Once we get one of those - then you can have my money!

    • tylerandjennifer1

They'll come sooner or later. Id count on seering one 2nd quarter next year ish

  • SpacePenguinBot

Seems like this first wave of controllers just isn't for me. I want something well made with analogue sticks and bluetooth so I can use it on my iPad.

    • Steve Green

Sadly the only one I've seen so far is the Gamecase and it's site has been pulled for whatever reason. That one was odd looking but it has everything I'm looking for in an ipad controller, with dual sticks, and multiple triggers and shoulder buttons.

It may be just as well.

The pricing on the simpler and smaller controllers for the phones are so expensive the Gamecase will probably cost the same as an ipad mini.

      • ZarieoZ

Does pulling the site means we won't get the controller πŸ™ ???

      • Steve Green

It could just mean they're retooling the design. But that would mean they'll be a while releasing it.

  • MachineJXD

Ipad controller i want not iphone shit πŸ™

  • Dustin Leiblein

How am I supposed to play San Andreas with a d-pad?

    • Mike

You'll have to use the touch screen. HAHA

  • Mhunt190

I'm not made of money $99 for a controller is WAY TO MUCH!!!! Android controllers price rage are around $20-$50... That is more appropriate for a controller.

    • Squablo

These are NOT controllers. They are iphone cases...........

      • err404

I disagree. These are controllers. Nobody should use something so bulky as a case. The only reason somebody would put their phone into one of these is a a requirement to use the controller.

  • NOEN

WHAT?? Only a lightning port? How am I gonna hook my iPhone and iPod 3G to this??

    • archieg27

iPod touch 3rd gen? is iOS 7 even supported on that? That's like from 4 years ago. Get a new device man. Games that support iControllers probably wont even run good on your devices anyway.

    • https://weheartit.com/cantst0pfallinginL0ve βζ²›ιœ–βγŠ—

jeez , u need to get a life... better yet .. get a job if your family is so damn poor to supply u a few thousand $ latest gadget

  • Mike

I'm baaack... First off, this will be obsolete with the next phone release in a handful of months. Secondly, the tilt. Were they drinking near the chalkboards over there?

  • H4nd0fg0d

Rite, no analog sticks. WTF. More junk!

  • Der-Kleine

Why can't anyone make a case like this? Is it really that hard?!

  • Kane

Not bad, but its not what i want in a gamepad. Pass..

  • ImJPaul

Still waiting for "the one". I definitely want a controller but I won't pay $100 for something that doesn't meet my needs. I'd like a thin design, dual analog and portability. This is completely doable. Until this controller is made these are nothing more then cool toys I'll never try.

  • KevinZOMG

I feel like the "viewing angle" is absolutely unnecessary. It works with the Nintendo DS line because it has 2 screens and a clamshell design. For a single screen? No thanks.

  • Cilo

Any controller manufactured without adjustments to different iPhone sizes will become obsolete by next year if Apple alters the device in any way. Besides that though, no controller is worth $99 and you'll see a bunch of these wind up in troves at discount stores like Marshall's or Ross, like all the other overpriced accessories nobody wants.

  • shieldser99

Till screen is of no use and without analog sticks it's just the same as powershell. I hope apple release an official controller the all games released on the App Store are required to support it. Including gameloft

  • tylerandjennifer1

I sure some folks will love this but i'm looking for the dual analogs. i think the caliber advantage is looking the most appealing to me. No release date in sight though : /

The bladepad also looking pretty good but won't be release for some time. I guess i just have to be patient.

  • Joe Welke

Dumb question: was it ever confirmed that the MFi controller standard worked over Bluetooth? That's the only thing I can think of as to why none of these are wireless-capable.

And, again, this is not what I want. Hey, Eli, feel like being a hero? Contact a peripheral maker and see if they might be willing to make a "Touch Arcade" crowdfunded MFi controller. Put it on Kickstarter and see what happens. Hell, Impulse did it, why can't all of us?

    • Obidab

Everyone needs to reed this post. ^

  • HansKaosu

    Still no iPad controllers >_>

  • thebeat07

    Where is the analog

  • abdul.wahab

Am I the only one how is wating for an iPad controller ??

    • HansKaosu

No.. i want a iPad controller to. :

  • tomj315

That looks really nice and stylish, please give us more information when you have it!

  • Taeles

Still waiting on anything for my iPad...

  • archieg27

I want a controller similar in design to NVIDIA's Shield Game Player, where the iphone can somehow be placed above the controller, and the controller having dual anolog of course, and similar design button wise to a xbox remote. That way the iDevice isn't taking up space where buttons can be.

  • unfrozenjon

I know this controller design is far from what most of us want but I am nonetheless excited. Razer has made some solid hardware and I used them when I used to do desktop gaming. If Razer is throwing their hat into the ring perhaps they will do a bluetooth wireless version as they had something similar for their windows gaming tablet already.

  • $P4RT4N

For god sakes case makers! How hard is it to create a battery case with high quality buttons and dual control sticks?

  • ZarieoZ

Off topic. But I'm thinking of getting PS vita amazon holiday bundle. I thought it'll hold play station purchase for a year or more but I found that it doesn't offer the same games. My main problem is that I'm mainly getting it for uncharted & Little Big planet. But as for its library compared to my iPad, it's awful. The Appstore is richer & better. I know it's not the place or the topic but I respect opinions on TA & I'm in desperate need for advice here πŸ™‚ should I just hurry & get the good offer & think later???

  • AngryBaby

Yea buy a Vita! - said no one ever on TouchArcade

    • ZarieoZ

Well do you think a vita will ever replace my iPad, well it's a never. Nothing will ever replace it, I just wanna try this thing specially since it's cheaper. Plus I've been on TA for too long & I read most of the comments, so I know most of the hardcore gamers here (which are the ones I'm asking for their opinion btw) have other gaming devices. So I'm leaving it for them to answer if it's worth it or not!!!

      • hourglass

Go for it, man. If you don't like it you can always sell it.

      • ZarieoZ

Yeah I've been told that & I've been thinking about it. But I'm in a PAL region & I don't know if I'll have bad time selling a NSTC version in a PAL region. Hmmmm still thinking. Will probably get it tomorrow morning if I make up my mind πŸ™‚

      • ZarieoZ

Oh and thanks for replying, I really appreciate it. I was beginning to think I won't be getting any help πŸ™‚

    • ZarieoZ

Also I'm asking here because I'm like most of the people here, I wanna know the opinion of people like me, iPad gaming fans. If I ask elsewhere I would get the answer from PS fans & that I don't want.

  • DemoEvolved

Do want! Looks solid and well made

  • hourglass

Where are the sticks? You can't have a decent controller without them.

  • grammatonfeather

Another phone limited design. Crap. Utter wank.

  • daywalker2676

So far the only thing that looks promising is blade pad. They better have a decent price point though, like around $69 tops.

  • Hampus Jensen

Just screams fake, or possibly bad mock-up. Just look at the buttons on the right side. Also doubt Razer would be so lazy with their design that it'd end up looking like a plain version of the Logitech or that they as a company making gaming peripherals would skip out on the sticks.

    $99...... U CRAZY?
