Fifty Alarm Freebie Alert: ‘World of Goo HD’ Free for the First Time Ever

TouchArcade Rating:

We’ve got a big old sales post coming up in just a bit, but I thought that this deserved its own special mention. For the first time ever, the award-winning puzzle game World of Goo HD ($4.99) is free for the first time ever since launching on the App Store in December of 2010. World of Goo first made a splash on desktop PC and Nintendo’s WiiWare service back in 2008, and when it did finally come to iOS in 2010 (as an iPad only title at that time) it actually felt even better than the original due to the intuitive touchscreen controls. The game has since been updated with Universal iPhone support as well as widescreen and Retina Display support.

I’m not sure what I could possible say about World of Goo that hasn’t been said already. It’s simply a phenomenal game and must be part of your iOS game collection. As it originally launched at a ten dollar price point, and even that felt like a steal for such a game, there’s really no excuse for not downloading it now for free if you haven’t picked it up already. Or if you own the iPhone-only version (which isn’t currently on sale) then this is a great opportunity to upgrade to the Universal build. Whatever the case, just head to the App Store ASAP and mash the download button for World of Goo HD, you won’t regret it.
