If there's one mashup of game brands that I never expected I'd see, it's Worms 3 [$4.99] with Terraria [$4.99]. But that's just what we've got with the latest Worms 3 update. A set of six new hats for your Worms come straight from Terraria, blocky pixel visuals and everything. There's also new gravestones and a whole new speech bank inspired from the crafting-slash-adventure game. In addition to Terraria stuff, there's also some new Halloween content which includes new hats, glasses and facial items to spook your Worms out with. You can see examples of both the Terraria items and the Halloween items in the screens below.

Personally I've never been a huge Worms guy, and for a series that's been around for nearly two decades I'm left scratching my head at how this latest entry is somehow named Worms 3. Shouldn't it be like Worms 27 or something? At any rate, the only place you can play Worms 3 is on iOS, so if you've been enjoying this latest Worms release then definitely give the updated content a look. As a bonus, if you haven't already picked up the game, it's currently on sale for 99¢ down from its usual $4.99 price tag.

Since it's the 3rd Worms game released for IOS (not counting Crazy Golf) it makes sense it would be called Worms 3. How else would you follow up Worms 2: Armageddon?

I'm not a worms fan but I am going to assume there are worms games on other platforms... So I believe the author was probably wondering why it's only at Worms 3 when it has been around for a while. He probably didn't know that the 3 refers to the ios series.

I was just poking fun at how many Worms games there are. It's 3 because it's the third proper entry in the rebooted series which started in 2007, and you're correct it's the proper sequel to Worms 2: Armageddon. Of course there are a million spinoffs and variations released in between those three 🙂

Yup, I figured you guys knew that (I thought the Worms 27 remark was great, and obviously intentionally funny), but just thought I'd clarify for the people who haven't been "exposed" to Worms yet.

Really enjoying 3. Fun like I had back when, playing Worms on my Amiga.

Is it full screen on iphone or does it have a yellow border all around?

    • tinkie277

      Full screen.

If they want my money they'll have to charge the equivalent price in different countries. I'm having nothing to do with this $1/£1/€1 pricing tier that punishes non-Americans.

    • tinkie277

It's 69 pence in the UK.

      • dancj

No it isn't. TouchArcade and AppShopper show the wrong price.

      • tinkie277

It did show 69p on the App Store for me.

Worms 3 is essentially a lite, mobile version of various Worms games on other platforms. So it's true you can only play it on iOS, but only in the same way you can only play the App Store versions of CoD: Zombies and Dead Space on iOS.

Very true, It is a very content rich lite game though. I do think it's a massive step from Worms 2 Armegeddon. It's easily worth £2.99.
