183754_largerAs we've been doing these TA Plays Rewind videos, one game that seems to keep popping up in comments as one we should do is Solomon's Keep [Free]. So, alright, no problem, but it seems weird to capture some video of Solomon's Keep without making it a double header with Solomon's Boneyard [Free] as well.

Solomon's Boneyard is the endless arena-based brother of Solomon's Keep, and while Jared and I both greatly prefer the somewhat linear progression of Keep, if all you're looking for is a quick pick up and play session, Boneyard might be for you.

Check 'em out:

It's hard to say just how much to recommend these games these days, as neither have iPhone 5 support or are even universal. Regardless, they're classics, so as long as that sort of thing doesn't bother you I say grab 'em both.

I remember playing Solomon's Keep ages ago. Definitely recommend it for a short burst of fun.

I still can't wait for the new one to come out. All the cool new powers and the mixing element looked soooo cool. Hopefully, that comes out soon.

I still think this is one of the best early iOS games. It's controls for the time are flawless.

Certainly once developers began to explore other types of controls from the iOS framework, dual stick games were considered outdated.

But I still think this is a strong classic! The content, UI design, and gameplay are amazing. SK is such an immersive game. And it's free!!!

i really enjoyed Solomon's Keep! The controls are surprisingly good and I liked getting perks each time I leveled. I hope the dev will come out with a sequel.

SK is a true iPhone gem, it's a shame it never got the HD treatment as the gameplay holds just fine today. The perks, abilities, special magic powers, and everything is just balanced so well with a ton of depth it is remarkable. The random dungeons, traps, monster variety, bosses and final confrontation with Solomon are all terrific. The game is still on my iPhone and I don't see it being deleted anytime soon.

Still one of my favorites. πŸ™‚

It would be nice if you TA boys could get some updated info on Solomon Dark. John disappeared from the forum thread months ago and I am worried about if it is still being released.

Solomon's Keep is by far a favorite of mine. The story is repeatable as with your same perks. The tower just gradually becomes harder. At a certain level, the game adds permadeath to the difficulty.

Solomon's keep is the perfect diablo for iPhone. In all the ways that make diablo amazing and all the ways that diablo 3 is not
