This past January, Chillingo and LambdaMu Games released Pixel People [Free], a free-to-play city builder that was full of charm and plenty to discover. Sure, it was your typical free-to-play kind of experience, filled with timers and in-game currency and plenty of mostly mindless clicking, but it was a damn fun one. Since our original review of Pixel People, the game has been well-supported with updates, expanding pretty much everything from its initial release.
Today Pixel People has received its biggest update yet. Dubbed the "Earth-shattering update" it adds more than 30 new jobs, 20 new mutants, and 12 new buildings to the mix, as well as 30 new achievements to earn. Of course, in true Pixel People fashion, there are also plenty of new secrets to discover throughout the environments and through splicing genes.
Biggest of all, you'll be able to visit your friends Utopias and see how they've chosen to rebuild the world post-apocalypse. You can also trade items with friends or send them some gifts if you're feeling particularly generous. Check out all the new "ground-breaking update" features in this new trailer.
Be sure to check out the App Store description for a complete detail of what's new, as well as check in with our forums for some discussion. Pixel People was a giant time-suck already, but now with the ability to visit far off lands and trade new items with friends, and all the other new content, you might as well cancel your plans for the rest of the week.
