Deus_Ex_-_The_FallHow will Deus Ex: The Fall feel on iPhone and iPad? Is there any possible way it could be as good as Human Revolution? If you punch through a wall and no-one hears it, did it make a sound? We'll be able to answer these Qs pretty soon, as Fall has been slated for release later this week. Specifically, it'll hit on July 11 for $6.99.

In case you missed the announcement, Fall is a first-person shooter that puts you in the boots of Ben Saxon as he quests to expose the truth behind a drug conspiracy. Like HR's Jenson, Saxon has all sorts of fun augmentations to help him along the way, including a sweet Robocop-ish move that allows him to burst through walls and choke a dude. Neat!

We'll get our hands on this one as soon as we can, so stay tuned.

And now to figure out what apps to sacrifice to the digital Gods so that I may have the space to play this awesomeness!

    • Pocketnova

      Agree 100%!!

    • curtisrshideler

Gonna guess we'll need 5GB in order to install. Anyone else wanna guess?

      • shadax

I say closer to 2GB. It will be big, but the textures looked really watered down.

This is why we need to be able to restore individual apps' data from device backups! (iCloud and local backups alike.) In fact, when re-installing a deleted app, it should ask automatically whether you want to restore that app's state from one of your backups.

Until that day... the best we can do is figure out which games do essentially the same thing using iCloud alone. Those can already be swapped on and off our devices relatively safely. Scary, though! If you have a lot of progress saved, but want to take a break and install a new game instead.

Just hope the controls are handled well.

Alright that does it, this week is gonna be CRAZY 😀

Deus Ex, walking Dead: 400 days and that rovio stars game. Lots of money and lots of space. Must do some serious preparations.

    • ImJPaul

And I just bought State of Decay and Tomb Raider for my Xbox. The video game Gods are testing me.

    • Zentatsu

What's the upcoming rovio star game? I really like Ice Breaker so I'm looking forward to know what's their next featured game.

Gameloft might surprise us with their new high flying racing game as well.. I hope so :))

Tiny Thief, which looks like it could be quite cool.

But yes, this is amazing year for iOS, so many excellent ports, so many games to look forward to (soon coming ) and next year has already ton of awesome games that have been Kickstarted.
Actually I dare to say this is best year to own iOS device and game quality is surpassing all other handheld ones.

  • Reignmaker

If this is well received, I'll buy it.

  • flashbackflip

    Good to know. Thanx

  • AngryBaby

I'm muxh more excited for this than I was for XCOM and I'll tell you why:

    New content.

I played and loved the console version of XCOM and while its gameplay might translate better to iOS than Deus X, I prefer the addition of new storylines, systems, and gameplay elements to a great game over a straightforward port.

Either way, I'm pumped for this!

  • ODMay

This game looks good but I hope there's an option for a D-Pad.

  • Kirs

    SE...low hopes..

    • Onikage725

SE by way of their acquired Eidos division. At least, the core series. I don't know who's directly handling this game, but the price should tell you it's not the typical SE release.

      • greatnoob

Yes apparently it's $6.99 as cited from another gaming site!

  • Metal Jesus Rocks

I'm such a huge Deus Ex this is a Day One purchase for me.

  • Jake7905

Square Enix + a 7 dollar price tag= wait for impressions (a.k.a. the TA forums)

  • PureRumble

    Come to papa!

  • err404

I love the iPad port of XCOM, but I feel that it could have been better (and smaller) if it was more re-imaged with the platform in mind. We don't need console ports of games that "waste" space with rendered clips to mask loading simply because that was how the original did it.
DeusEx seems to have a better approach by making an experience built from the ground up for the limitations of iOS devices.
Just keep it high quality and I will buy it.

  • Alteris101

I love my iphone and Deus Ex (the first, 2nd sux, the latest wasn't bad) but after playing tons of FPS on the iPhone, all I can say is it doesn't work. Some type of games work on the touchscreen, but some just don't. FPS is one of them. IMHO

So dont forget your out tonight...

  • Derprozess
