We got a look at Magic 2014 back at PAX East, and I couldn't help but be a little disappointed by the fact that back then the demo they showed basically amounted to Magic 2013 with a few new cards. But, that's not the case anymore. The upcoming version is adding a sealed deck game mode, where you actually crack open six booster packs and come up with your own custom deck to play. Check it out:

Magic 2014 is launching on Steam on the 26th, and while Wizards isn't into the idea of committing to iOS release dates, they hope to have it available for download on all platforms around the same time.

Unfortunately, A:NR is licensed by Fantasy Flight Games, so I think they'd have to be the ones to make an electronic version. I'd love to have one so much...

oh I know, heh.. I was more taking the opportunity to say that it needs to happen :).

This just became about 100 times more interesting.

Can it do a multiplayer online booster draft? THAT would be awesome.

  • Favio

android phone yes and iphone ipod touch no ?¿?¿?¿

  • echo_pdx

Okay, now I'll buy it. The PAX demo made it seem like a miss.

I was so stoked to get a crack at the Sealed deck thingy until I learned that beyond the 1 free draw, any additional cracks at Sealed Deck will cost you cash (I assume $0.99).

  • TheNorthernSkeptic

Can you link a reference for that?

    • Tim Jordan

For some reason Disqus isn't allowing my link directly to the WoftC forums, but it is official. You get 2 slots free and then have to pay $1.99 for each additional Sealed Deck Campaign start (i.e. redraw of your random 6 boosters plus 3 new boosters as you progress into the campaign). So if you want to scum for the ultimate booster draw, you'd better get ready to pay for each attempt.

    Think I'll go with Hearthstone.

    • Tim Jordan

I'm pretty curious about this one as well, but how "pay to play" will it be? Not another Assassin's Creed, I hope.

      • Reignmaker

I trust Blizzard to do a good job. I think A LOT of people will be buying packs though. How that affects the gameplay, we'll have to see.
