Earlier this morning, Eli and I sat down (and stood up) with Zombie Road Trip [Free]. As you'd guess, it's a hill climbing game with zombies in it, combining every trope we've seen in both the runner and climbing genres. Interestingly, it also has a "chase" mechanic -- if you mess up a landing or smack into too many zombies, an undead horde will catch up with you and eat you. That's kinda cool, right?

Look, if you're done with these kinds of games, that's probably not enough for you. We totally get that, straight-up. For the rest of you out there, everything in this game is really well executed -- from look, to sound, to mechanics, this thing is solid. Give it a look. Or don't. Options! They're fun!

Good game, but I think the car mechanics and physics could be better. The cars feel too "floaty", and the registering of the quality of landing doesn't seem consistent. Still, a lot of fun!

I thought it would just be a I hate zombies clone. It turned out to have a feel all its own, and its pretty fun. Also the currency flow is reasonable for a free game.

    I have one question.
How do you guys record the screen?

    • mrTofu

I believe they use game capture HD.

@toucharcade-2af0e8e50988926d3afa912483f6e9a7:disqus Well, actually it's a pretty strange coincidence - both Zombie Road Trip and I Hate Zombies were developed in the same timeframe (makers on IHZ said it took them over a year and we started work on ZRT in late 2011 as well). We independently decided for the same setting, mostly same mechanics and even similar vehicles. Pure coincidence, and I've never seen something like that happen before

Also, you definitely can not say that ZRT is a "IHZ clone" as we have published it in the upcoming games section here on TA forum long before IHZ was announced and it was already feature complete at that time

If zombies turn out to be as fast as cars, humanity is fucked.

      Mad classic.

I found and dont ask me why, i found it easier to play on my iphone then on my ipad anyone else found this?

  • Greyskull

Seems like just another "tilt forward-tilt backward" 2d driving game to me. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. I really don't get it. This could be a reskinned version of at least 100 games in the appstore.

Watching you play this game is just sad... you really have no skills what so ever, the saddest 4:34 minutes of my life.

You should consider starting pretzels for a living or something cause games are really not your strong point.
The game looks interesting but your "noobiness" is stuck on my retina and i don't think I can ever play this game now without feeling depressed :))

    • SmackDatButt

Haha, I found what Brad was talking about in the Metal game video :)

The game and this genre is just not my cup of tea that's why I won't even download. But...

I cannot not notice that the hord behind the car is a static animation trying to follow the level of the car. And while the dust around them looks cool when the car is on the ground, it looks pretty bad when the hord flies after you in the air...

If the key idea here is being chased by zombies I think they should have spent more time on polishing this hord...

  • diovivente

I have no idea whats up but i am unable to tilt in this game. The car just stays level the entire time. Looks stupid.

    • Holcman

You press the buttons on the corner of the screen... Don't tilt your device

    Classic but funny game.
