For those of you out there who want to play The Room [$0.99 (HD)] on your iPhone, good news: it's coming to iPhone and iPod touch as a standalone release tomorrow.

Recently, The Room creator Fireproof Studios dropped us a line about The Room Pocket, and before you get all angry about the lack of a Universal update check this: Pocket has features that cater specifically to the smaller screen real estate of iPhone and iPod touch. Specifically, Fireproof has re-worked the camera and has tweaked a few mechanics to make it "sing on the smaller screen." We're told there's also even a few graphical additions throw into this version, though it's notable that the same level of detail is be present in both versions of the game.

The Room is an awesome experience, and it would have needed a lot of work to feel just as good on an old iPhone especially. We're excited to give this a spin, for sure. Hit up our review of the game if you skipped it before and get hyped.

Every time I read about The Room I always get excited because I think it's about the Tommy Wiseau masterpiece. I am always disappointed. :(

From what I've heard this will only be compatible with iPhone 4S and 5.

This is an outstanding game. Brought me back to how I felt when I spent my first 100 hours in Myst. Having finished the game on my iPad 2 I'll gladly play through the iPhone version, and heck, I'd gladly pay for an update, sequel, or anything else from the makers. Thanks to TouchArcade for the heads up on this gem!
