House of the Lost is a new brand game being built by the capable hands over at F5 Games, the studio that behind Pocket Heroes. Slated to hit "soon" on iPad, Lost is a rogue-like that tasks you with saving your sister from the House of the Lost, a haunted mansion of sorts filled with puzzles, randomized rooms, and monsters.

Speaking with us via e-mail F5 Games' Brandon Pollet describes the game as "reminiscent" of Zelda or Binding of Isaac, in that "players move from room to room battling monsters, solving puzzles, and searching for secrets as they try to locate the level exit." Pollet adds that all the games' levels are randomized and death is permanent.

Here's the game's teaser trailer, by the way:

Sounds good, right? We'll definitely get our hands on this, so stay tuned. And hey, add the game to your Watch List if you're into it.

    Could turn out interesting.
But i wish they focused on polishing and updating Pocket Heroes.

I have to agree. There are still so many bugs in Pocket Heroes that, while they might not stop the overall gameplay, are still very annoying.

Also, will this be an iPad only release? Or will it just come out on iPad first, and then on iPhone?

      • Brandon Pollet

We're starting on iPad and then plan to make the game Universal. We're trying to limit the amount of devices we have to test on so we can have a better release then we did with Pocket Heroes.

That makes perfect sense, and I definitely think it's a good idea. Thank you for your response, I can't wait to play this game!

This look sick! The weapon crafting could be a really cool feature if it's fleshed out to include lots of different weapons. Can't wait!

Thought it sounded awesome but thought the graphics looked bad from the screen of the video. Then I watched the video and was pleasantly surprised. Looks different. Love games with permanent death. Makes you think a lot more about every move you make.
