Lili, the much-anticipated, light-hearted "adventure RPG," is hitting September 21, game creator BitMonster Games announced this afternoon. No word on price just yet, but it has been confirmed that the Unreal Engine 3-powered game will support the new screen sizes of the new iPhone and iPod Touch.

We still don't know a lot about Lili, despite how close it is to release. Previous word pegs it as a hybrid RPG, combining puzzle and exploration elements with some sort of a basic RPG structure. Interestingly, it will also have a "non-combat" system for dealing with enemies. We're stoked to see what that means.

Here's a new trailer for the game, by the way. Looking good!

Now this is fantastic news! Still interested in seeing some gameplay though...

Love the art style. I hope the gameplay is as good as it looks.

I like the sound of "non-combat". If it weren't for that word, I'd probably not even pay attention to this game.

I have often wished for an open world game in the vein of Fallout or Shadow of the Colossus where there was absolutely no combat and only environmental puzzles everywhere... with secrets and upgraded abilities that allowed you to explore further out of reach areas as you unlocked and solved more and more complicated puzzles. Kind of like Metroid (upgrades) meets Ico (architecture) meets SotC (huge environment) ... with no combat.

So have I! Is this game expected to be like that?

      • 1Fcm

Actually, I don't really know what its about. I was just responding to the previous comment about non-combat games.

So you want to play The Witness?

      • 1Fcm

A game by Jonathan Blow? Absolutely! But the Witness doesn't seem to be open world. It reminds of Myst somehow.

really it's not like that aspect hasn't been dealt with before, there are plenty of games that have a non-combat way of eliminating/avoiding/temporary leave of absence enemies. I can't imagine this game having some sort of revolutionary way to change it. Not that that will stop me from getting it. On my new 4" screen of course.

How is that even a trailer, wtf?

    • GSJ1977

It's got graphics in it! And a sort of anime schoolgirl who I guess looks sexy to the sort of people who buy worn schoolgirl panties from vending machines?

You sound knowledgeable about this topic!

      • GSJ1977

Of course. I am very knowledgable on all topics! :-p

      • Benjamin Rodriguez

more like a less offensive looking Eliza Thornberry.

The only Lili I'm busy with is the one in the new TTT2.
