Godzi Lab's long awaited new project Happy Street [Free] has finally launched in App Store markets worldwide. It's a side-scrolling town-building game featuring a ton of cute characters, really nice visuals, lots of different shops to build, and a heavy Animal Crossing vibe. Happy Street launched as an open beta in the Canadian App Store in late June, and we took a look at it last month and enjoyed our time with the game.

I've been playing the game for several weeks now, and although I'm not the hugest fan of these freemium "building" games I've actually had a ton of fun with Happy Street so far. The whimsical personality of the game goes a long way, and the freemium aspects don't bash you over the head like some similar games do. With a little patience you can do pretty much anything in Happy Street without spending a dime, and it always feels like there's something cool to do even if you're waiting on some cooldown timers to expire.

    For a $4 initial price tag it had better not have any IAP time sink nonsense. Not that $4 is a lot of money, I spent more on a pack of cigarettes that are ultimately killing me, but if a game has time sinks that you can avoid by spending real money in-game then it shouldn't have a buy in cost at all.

      The price that shows up is pulled automatically from the store, they don't just put in a number. When the app store updates through the TA system it will update to free here too.

    cute as anything!  love the humor in the dialog too.  I have a task for a dragon idol and no idea where to find it.  also many of the crafting descriptions are missing.  5 star anyway, lets see how long before the freemium model impacts play, looks like they got greedy on the pricing.

      Means they're not getting enough "shade" it's like sims, each character needs enough shade, food and fun to easy happy, each shop provides one of those , for example, the flower shop, sunglasses shop and surf shop all provide shade, so put them close to wear the shade needing ppl live (within 4 spaces.

      Ucan also add friends through gamecentre, just open game centre, add a username and it'll show up in happy street,
      U can only earn 2 flooz per day from this

    Eric Qi, you need to build a Lucky Spin, Fortune Wheel, or other structure with a baseball and bat icon. In the Shops menu, you'll see which ones will make your fluffy ones happy. 🙂

    Wheel and construction sites. If you do this, it will speed up their wait times for Fortune Wheel game and construction building.  So help your friends out while visiting their villages.

      I think it means your animals live too far away from accessory shops. They don’t like walking that much, so you’ll need to put a shop close to them.
