The power of the Angry Birds [$.99 / Free / HD / HD Free] machine is enormous. In the latest teaser for Angry Birds Space, developer Rovio Mobile has enlisted the help of an actual NASA astronaut for its promotional effort. While hanging out on the International Space Station, this dude gives a mini-lecture on Angry Birds and physics. You've got to see this.

Angry Birds Space is due out March 22nd. At launch, it'll boast around 60 levels, new birds, and a hip and new space-themed physics model. Images of a few levels are now available over at Joystiq.

So, this is going to be the Peggle Nights of Angry Birds. I think I am ok with that

This actually looks incredibly fresh. Will be getting it day one, making it my 7th AB game (or 8th if the HD version is out on the same day). Either way, it'll be at top spot on the paid charts the morning after release.

I think this looks really great and it'll be a hoot to play (sorry for the bad pun). I'm guessing Rovio paid NASA a few dollars for their support (not that they don't have the dough)? Good stuff!  :-D

Looks good to me! I already have a number of somewhat similar games, including Bombardier’s Guild, but Angry Birds has consistently done great things with existing concepts, and it looks like that will continue!

I like the different take on angry birds this time around. Looks fun as you get more involved with the physics.

Looks like some great new ideas to keep the series fresh. Saw some interesting new birds and effects in the preview footage that starts at around 3:00 in the video.

I'm just stunned about the marketting power of the Angry Birds machine.  It has become the Super Mario Brothers of iDevices and isn't slowing down.  And what a great idea to have a scientist, in space, use the most relevant game in recent history to teach (I'm assuming) children about physics.

Cool doesn't begin to describe it.

If NASA would still exist, I would lose all hope for it

Good to know our money goes on something other than game development... I think.

i hate angry birds with all my life... but i have to admit, this one actually looks good and im considering buying it ._.

Well it does look pretty good and reasonably fresh... The only thing I do not like is how much it lifts off from Super Mario Galaxy. The music is a dead on "sound-a-like" to "Wind Garden" and other epic songs from SMG. Indeed it should be called Super Angry Birds Galaxy.

Two and half years almost since Angry Birds hit the App Store. But still not Angry Birds 2?

    • qpawn

Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Space, but no Angry Birds 2. I'm still waiting to buy my movie ticket for Batman Begins 2.
