'Tehra Dark Warrior' – Upcoming 3D Hack 'n Slasher

iPhone developers Storm Basic have been working on their action 3D hack 'n slash fantasy game since late last year. We first heard of the game back in November when they posted their first teaser video which showed an impressive 3D gaming engine based on the Alpha build.
Storm Basic has since sent us some more details about the game. Tehra Dark Warrior was conceived as a classic action hack 'n slash and adventure in which the heroine Tehra will progress through the game while increasing her combat skills, magical power and being able to become a "more brutal evil version, with extraordinary power". Features include:
- Tehra has two sides as a character: a human and a devil one.
- Player magic and combat skills evolution.
- Online community, powered by AGON. Check your position at the worldwide leaderboards! Geolocation is supported!
- Defeat enemies and complete levels to win Awards and unlock Challenges.
- Hours of gameplay.
- NextGen 3D graphics, with use of OpenGL|ES 2.0 shaders for special effects as Bloom, Shockwaves, etc. (if hardware supports it, such as iPhone 3GS version).

Storm Basic, however, will be providing an updated trailer video to us shortly, so we can see how the game has progressed since then. The game is expected to be released in the 2nd week of February.

Yeah, um. Low-poly naked bottom. Goofy. Not attractive. Slightly embarrassing. lol.
I didn't see most of the trailer, I kept saying to myself, "wait… really? The whole time she's like this?" lol.
Easily solved. The "devil" form is more interesting and can keep the "naked" butt. Make the regular form more appealing and less goofy.
I'm sure there's a good game in there, otherwise.

Storm Basic has only made one good game, IMO. They make a lot of stuff. Mostly just meh. 7 Days Apocalypse was decent, but certainly not great. This looks to have more potential then any other Storm Basic game. We'll have to see wait and see though.
Ankagua was a good game too. So, IMHO, 2 good games out of them.
Damn, she's gotta be a wee bit cold I would have thought. Plus if I were hunting dragons, I'd want to be a wee bit more protected…
The game looks incredible, I have to admit, but I do wish they'd wrap the poor girl up a bit more!

Actually, hunting dragons probably requires roaming around in hot cave heated my dragonfire. Hence, the lack of clothes.

Graphics look really good. I just hope it's not a button masher a la Hero of Sparta.
God of War clones welcome. Looks more like a Bayonetta version with the thong.
For an alpha build teaser it looks good. Hopefully animations (mostly her running) will be a bit more… realistic/believable. The hack n slash animations are a bit weak as well.
When done at least decently, an action RPG like this is a sure fire winner. I would like to see the graphics tightened up a bit – by this point most iPhone/Touch users have upgraded to the 3G or 3GS. Once the $99 8Gb 3GS hits shelves there will be no reason not to own at least the 3GS or higher (4G).
Push the hardware and download sizes to the limit baby! I want to see massively huge downloads!!

Indeed the animations look really robotic. I think many games could easily improve if the character which is running away would at least look over her/his shoulder like being afraid. Same for the monsters, they could at least their attack and menacing moves in the direction of the character and follow her/him with their heads and eyes. It would make the game much more believable and is IMHO relatively easy to do.
More polys would be nice but I think you can look at what the N64 team for the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time have done; they animated everything so well that the technical issues became less relevant.
Did the dev run out of money when it came to costumes?

ha… people have their priorities screwed up. If you're more concerned with the fact that a heroine is wearing a thong than you are about the gratuitous violence then perhaps people like you are the reason society is deteriorating.
Funny, when Conan dresses up in a leather loincloth, it's supposed to be manly. When you have a similarly dressed female warrior, it's sexist. Perhaps what's sexist is that particular double standard.

The flip side is that one has more agility and speed without a heavy armor. And, to what avail would armor be against a fire breathing dragon? You would just get roasted like bun in and oven…

Heat protection for when you cunningly dodged to the side and narrowly missed the flame, yet still suffered 1st degree burns all over cause you were nekkid?
And I hearby propose that there is a difference between "not heavy armour", and "look at my ass, ooooooo yeah, you like that? *stab*" Although now I come to think about it the latter does have its advantages occasionally I guess…

are those screen shots from the Alpha Build? if that would be the case graphics may be a little bit better in the final build… i hope so ^^
Looks just like Hero of Sparta, don't see the point of this game at all since Hero of Sparta is dirt cheap now.
I do not understand why the Dragon first breaks the door and after jump over the wall… It can break the full wall directly!
