'Mission: Deep Sea' to Offer Multi-Touch… Swimming

We don't know a whole lot about this game just yet, but the gameplay trailer was just so damn interesting. Mission: Deep Sea is described as a 3D underwater multitouch game for iPhone and iPod Touch. According to the developer page, the premise sounds a bit like Avatar set under water:
For thousands years, mankind have trained animals for many purposes. With the final developments in nano-tech, the telepathic control of reptilians became possible. You are the first soldier, who has the privilege of having a loggerhead sea turtle as a partner. During your various assignments you will see through turtle partner's eyes, and he will do what you wish to do.
So, you're a sea turtle on a mission. Here's the video trailer:
The game is due this month.

What that…?
Trailer did suck me in. Anxious to see more…
Hopefully, there is more than just taking photographs of salvaged bombs as alluded at 0:27 sec in the video.
BIG +1 to that. This one came out of left field…
You must be kidding me. Rogue Planet is out in NZ and you are wrtiting about a turtle… not that I find turtles bad, actually I like them but –> Rogue Planet!!!
I am sure that there is a review already waiting to be loaded as soon as Rogue Planet hits the US app store.
But I must admit, Deep Sea looks interessting. I hope they don't mess up with it!
It looks fantastic!
It looks really fantastic! like this very much!!!
I have been looking for an interesting underwater app. Looks very cool, although I wish you could just be a diver instead of a..sea turtle.
Oh well, +1 for something other than a match 3, TD, or line drawing clone. I'll buy =)
Looks sorta like Treasurers of the Depp on PS1
Looks sorta like Treasurers of the Deep on PS1 without the combat.
That was the first thing that popped into my mind.
This looks interesting enough. Hope it has some depth to it. (^_^')
Oh goody….another Tech Demo…..
;
Is there additional info that you’ve come across somewhere? How can you tell it doesn’t have an actual game?
Maybe they will prove us wrong, but there are far to many pretty tech demo\'s that pass themselves off as games in the app store, this looks to be another one of those games. Time will tell.
Nice atmosphere, but where's the game?
I liked it until the random busty redhead came out of no where. I'm a straight guy, but she seemed a bit gratuitous and out of place in a game about a swimming turtle.
You might BE the random busty redhead. You are actually a human controlling the turtle via nanotech.
And the reasonably muscular dude next to her felt in place?
Both characters suck, but I like the turtle.
talk about a thumb cramping experience
It's like Beastmaster underwater combined with Endless Ocean from the Wii.
And Aquanaut's Holiday from the PSX.
Hmmmm… does look interesting. Hope there's a fair amount of 'depth' to the game… *whistle* *tumbleweed*… ok, sorry!
Actually, is that supposed to be a giant Dino fossil at the end?
at 22 seconds is that a plastic grocery bag?
No I think it's the plastic off a six pack.
hmm.. sea turtles are known to choke and die on plastic bags in water
All the jellyfish swim in same direction.
Reminds me a bit of one of my favourite games… Aquanaut's Holiday on the Playstation.
Looks interesting – makes me think of Glyder, but you know, underwater. There's not a whole lot of depth to Glyder either, but it made for a simple relaxing game. Wonder if this will be similar? It's pretty, if nothing else.
RELEASE DATE and PRICE ??
It's also similar to EverBlue 2.
Looks cool enough. Not really seeing the point though. But great graphics for the iPhone.
Nice to see something that doesn't include zombies, match 3, find the item, or any of the other tired genres on the platform.
Reminds me of Glyder. This looks like a must buy for me. Very cool.
tim
Reminds me of Glyder, which I have played all the way, and loved.
