I agree with drclaw. the game just quits if i double tap home, so I normally just don't play the game, cos I prefer listening to music. Its only 59p but a waste to me cos of this 1 feature.

Does anyone know why you can't listen to your own music on JC2? the first Jellycar allowed you to turn game music off an listen to your own music. It seems trivial but it's a deal breaker for me if this feature isn't fixed soon.

Y'know, I actually like that on the app store, just because a game is made by Disney doesn't mean it's awful marketing-tripe, like the name means on most systems.

Yay for Disney being willing to put some muscle behind a very indie game.

Cool! Glad to see a sequel make it out the door. Definitely buying. (Would have bought the original too ..he should do a paid version of that one.) :)

Walaber is working for Disney. He didn't have the time to make a sequel by himself so he dropped the idea to disneys mobile dev team and they greenlighted it. The game is worth the 79 eurocents.

I think the level editor (!) is worth a mention, as well. It's intuiive to handle unlike the editor for jellycar 1 (pc and psp version).
It did not even take 5 minutes for my grandma to get her way into the game and after playing the game she was nearly instantly able to handle the editor.

I'd advice everyone who liked jellycar 1 to get this sequel.
Thanks Wally and Disney ;)

The dev explained in the forums

"hey everybody, this is Walaber. I just wanted to clear up the "Why Disney?" questions everyone is asking about. I actually work at Disney, and the original JellyCar was a side project I did on my own. I had been hearing lots of requests for a sequel to JellyCar, but I didn't have time to make the game myself (much less spare time now because of work and family than when I created JC1). So instead I pitched the idea internally to our mobile game team, and the idea was given the green light.

I worked very closely with the team that created JC2 (starting with my source code for JC1) all along the way through development. It's really exciting for me to see my "baby" have a proper sequel created, that people appear to be enjoying. Today has been an exciting day. I think I refreshed the "Top 25" in the App Store about a million times "

Excellent news, I've always loved JellyCar, ever since it was a PC game. But the thing I wonder with this release, is why did Walaber, the original creator of the game, let Disney get their hand in. It's odd he makes no mention of Disney in his own blog, nor on his games website.

Still, I will probably buy it, but it just doesn't feel right that Disney's getting a cut, when in fact most of the work is done by a 1 man team.
