"XD" indeed. You are such a thrifty buyer to pay them the exactly $.01 you thought it was worth, so they are giving you the quality of support that you've proven you're worth.

World of Goo was fantastic on Wii and I'm sure it will be on idevices as well. It's probably almost a given that it will be a direct port which is great for first time users but not so much for those of us who have already beaten the game on another system. My hope is that they will add an option to purchase additional levels in game and keep adding to it similar to pocket god. That's the only way I'd buy it again at this point.

As for the piracy issue, I'm sure companies like 2D Boy probably suffer more than anyone else. This is their first major title which has received tons of buzz both on Wii and PC/Mac. So they're counting on not only the positive response, but the money from sales of the game to create a follow-up title and build their company. But when a game becomes too popular then you see a lot of piracy. Even if the percentage of legal vs. illegal downloads stays constant, the amount of lost potential revenue becomes greater. Add to that the fact that your competition now has you in their crosshairs because you have developed a successful game and you can see how they would feel the pinch.

I just hope that 2D Boy is able to create some great follow up titles to WOG. I loved the overall presentation of the game; the art style, the music, the story. Here's to hoping that it wasn't just beginner's luck!

Fantastic! I hope it's not just a straight port, as I bought the PC version... would be good if there's new material. Good stuff :)

Wow! Thanks for the heads up. I downloaded the game, after making a reduculously cheap donation. I loved it so much I had to go download it again so I could support the dev. I'm rockin' a first gen iPhone though, so I hope they get it working on older devices. Either way, awesome job.

@sicktron
Really? Libraries and books? This is supposed to be similar to the software piracy issue? That would only apply if everyone had a library in their home and one could endlessly copy the library book by pressing a button and waiting 5 seconds. Right?

It will be somewhat sad how many people will take "pay however much you think it is worth" to mean "get it for a penny" and complain about the server speeds in the process. Hopefully it pays off for 2Dboy with some goodwill from a lot of gamers that will remember and appreciate this when their next game offering comes along. :)

A great game--and perfect for iPhone. As for piracy--it's easy for us to say standing on the outside that it's not a problem. On the inside when you're working hard and trying to make a living, it's another story. And that story is NOT the same for every title, or every company.
