Oh this game looks delightful, having not played this when it first came out because i was only 6 at the time.

After reading the comments so far it seems that no one has mentioned Broken Sword. Broken Sword is a highly similar adventure game that I grew up playing. I think the new UI was inspired by Broken Swords UI?

And to all talking about Sierra, yeah, I wish they would put out everything. My heart trembles for a "remastered" version of the Manhunter games. As a man in my early 30s so many of my childhood memories with my father were us playing through the Sierra catalog together. If they put out the collections on iPhone, even at $20 a pop I would bite. Give me every police quest, LSL, Manhunter and King's Quest and you get ALL my money.

I don't like 1112 all that much, myself. Oh, sure, it's i-exclusive and has a nice presentation, but the puzzles and the interface don't do it for me.

IMHO Flight of the Amazon Queen or Return to Mysterious Island are much better, either one.

Well, it was my first point-and-click adventure game and I may be biased, but I really loved Flight of the Amazon Queen. It has more or less ScummVM interface, but I didn't care.
I am currently enjoying Return to Mysterious Island too – so glad I didn't upgrade the firmware on my 2G Touch .

Simon the Sorcerer games were supposed to be good too, I've heard. Didn't try them yet.

Love how the adapted the controls for the iPhone. I hope they all make the adventure games so easy to navigate and interact as Steel Sky.

I saw some pictures of Simon the Sorcerer, and I think they just ported it and u use the finger as a mouse. Nothing new after so many years.

I'm tempted to get this, but I already got it way back in the Amiga days, and have it on just about everything now (PC, Mac, GP2x..) It is a stirling game. I much prefer it without the intro and speech though. Can those be turned off? The voice acting just drives me crazy (especially the accents ..me living just across the water from Oz.)

Anyway.. brilliant game. So glad to see it make the leap to iPhone with all the right tweaks made to the UI.
