Terrible 'review'. Its does auto-save, and "There isn't any way to increase the difficulty of the game"....any gamer that has ever played an RPG knows the difficulty scales up with the classes. "No financial aims" What about the achievemnets? And how can there be a lack of grinding? That doesn't even make snese. Wow, noob.

Hey this was a great review. The price seems a little high but hey what do you expect. I am probably going to buy it atm. It reminds me alot of the CP game FATE which was alot of fun except that I only had like an hour to play haha.

To answer some of the above questions, you can see the list of achievements if you connect to gameloft live from the in game menu. The last level achievement is 50, so that might be the cap. There's also an achievement to own a million gold, so clearly they were aware it was plentiful, hehe. Overall I'm enjoying it though, has just the right amount of depth for a game I'll play while waiting for a train.

Great graphics and gameplay, no grinding required if you clear each level and pick up potions. Mage is the most fun IMO, the only class with ranged attacks.

Advice for playing Mage: Max out Energy. Put 3 points into all the elemental spells (Lighting, Water, etc). Put points into Dummy early, it's your best spell for handling groups of enemies until you get Psychic Blast at level 20. Other spells are optional. Pick items that increase Spell Critical.

Advice for playing Warrior: Put some points into Dexterity (to use more varied items) and Energy (to increase Mana for skills). Whirling Blades is your best skill, makes your weapon an area of effect attack. You must hit attack to target your next enemy; after that attacks are automatic.

I Love it!
It plays so much like Diablo but with a few twists.

I took the liberty of modding the game as I do with most games.
Some of the changes I have made or am currently working on are as follows.

Increased Difficulty Level
Level Mapping
Reduced Drops

This game has allot of source files and will be more of a challenge to mod then Field Runner was, which is one of the simplest most customizable apps I have seen to date. You could strip that game down to the Engine and rebuild it so easily. Another easily modifiable game is

I'm considering buying this, but would like to know how many hours it takes to beat the game.

I doubt they'll change the difficulty level or financial aspect in the game, ever. That's always going to annoy as many people as it pleases, and it's rarely done once a game is out except in very minor ways.

I actually doubt they'll implement auto-save in the middle of a level, too. (You do know that your specific location is the only thing that *isn't* saved, right?) It entails preserving the state of the dungeon, or at least your locality, in terms of chests opened and beasties slain, whereas right now the game simply needs to persist your stats and which dungeon you were in. Not impossible, but not trivial either, and Gameloft isn't known for big updates.

So basically I'd say the game is what it is, and unless you'd like to wait six months until the price drops to $2.99--maybe--you should go for it now. It's really a great game.

Yes, you are returned to the start of the level when you quit (or take a phone call), but you don't lose any items or experience. It's a bit annoying, but none of the levels are that huge, so it's not a deal-breaker.

Gold is almost useless. I already seem to have found the best items by the time I make it back to a vendor, so the money just piles up. At least there are gold-related achievements.

It's not that hard. Mages may get killed with regularity, but my rogue and warrior wouldn't die unless I were extremely reckless.

Those are my three minor complaints. Otherwise, this game is fantastic. Just super. Go get it. I got it before it was pulled from the App Store, and I've put in probably 20 hours of play to date. It's really the new hack-and-slash RPG standard for iPhone. Love it.
