'Alive 4 Ever' 1.1 Update Sneak Peek

We got word from Merdian today that Alive 4 Ever [App Store] had its first major content update submitted to Apple for review. They seem to have listened to some of the criticism that forum members had in the Alive 4 Ever thread and implemented quite a few changes.
Two new game modes are being introduced, "Survival Battle" and "Horde Battle". In survival battle, you try to stay alive as long as you can through endless streams of zombies. If you survive for ten minutes, a special golden Desert Eagle pistol will be awarded. Horde battle has you fighting waves of zombies, and a P90, golden AK-47, and a M4 Super 90 will be rewarded for clearing waves 8, 16, and 24.

Some interface elements have been improved. You can now change the transparency of the dual sticks, and on the scene selection screen a small icon will indicate whether or not you have completed the challenges of that level.
Meridian provided us the following trailer showing the new features of Alive 4 Ever 1.1:

We really enjoyed Alive 4 Ever in our review, and with the news of this upcoming patch, we highly recommend all fans of dual stick shooters to give the game a try. The 1.1 patch is coming soon, and should be available inside of the next two weeks if all goes well with the approval process.

Sweet can't wait for this to come out! And I hope that when the updates DOES come out it won't delete any of the progress you've made (level up, weapons, etc)
I'll be getting my copy today because I believe the developers said the price is jumping to $2.99 after the update.
Meanwhile Minigore has yet to release new content…
Neither has Alive 4 Ever. They have both submitted new content to Apple, though.
In the end, which game has more content for the same dollar value?
Very cool. This is one of my favorite action games on the iPhone, so seeing it get a nice update is a treat.
Minigore is crap… this game blows all top down shooters on the iphone out of the water.
The thing to me is… Minigore was severely lacking out the gate. But it has potential!
At what point do you stop telling your friends that your stupid kid has potential? When he's 36 and still living in your basement?
A4E is a far superior product and most likely will continue to be. I don't understand the debate.
I don't even own minigore, but I find the cabal of minigore haters to be quite strange. This post is about Alive 4 Ever. Why even mention minigore? To constantly bring up minigore just to bash it in completely unrelated situations is indicative of a creepy level of obsession.
These are the top two games in the "dual analog action" (I don't know what to call it) category; stuff like iDracula. Meaning, they both play exactly the same, but are separated by little differences
I call them Dual Stick Shooters. Seems to work.
Let's try the genre they're all built off of… Robotron-style shooters, for you youngsters that think that the genre started with Geometry Wars (and it amazes me people call GeoWars an "Asteroids clone").

what, me?! >.>
YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S OBSESSED!

for realz
Wow the developers really listened to this forum. They even included a p90 that someone asked for. All I need from this game is more challenge… I rather shoot zombies than little furry things
Awesome. One of the best multiplayer games on the iPhone.
I've been playing their other top-down game Against the Fire! and I'm enjoying it, so I'll probably give this one a go once the update goes live.
So, the survival modes will be available just for single player mode?
Nice! Although I really wish they would add online multiplayer. I've got no one to play with.
this looks awesome! love the snow level. but does any one have any info if you can do the new modes in co-op? thats what i've really been looking forward to
yeah, judging by the vid and pics, there's only one player playing those new modes…
Cool news! I've also highly recommended this title in the iPhone Multiplayer bible ( http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?p=419463 ). Definitely worth the $1.
"In the end, which game has more content for the same dollar value?"
Get this one if you want multiplayer.
If any of the Alive 4 Ever devs are reading this… PLEASE get a proofreader for your game, the spelling and grammar mistakes all the way through are just awful and make it feel really unpolished.
Still a great game, don't get me wrong, but this wouldn't be hard to do and would improve the experience greatly.
But itz teh interwebz and no bodys spelchekz or knows gramar or punchtuation or nuttin.
Awesome! I absolutely can't wait for this
I have really enjoyed this game it's in my top five.
My wife and I have played the co-op together(Bluetooth) good times…..hope the new modes allow for more then one player.I can't wait for the update.
If you don't have this game yet I would suggest you get it now !
This game is awesome. Very few games get a permanent spot on my idevices, however this one is front page on all of them.
I would love to see a "rate of fire" stat for each weapon to make the game more dynamic. Add that and you can add even more weapons. The P90 and any weapon in the submachine gun class should have a much faster rate of fire than an AK47, not just faster reload and higher ammo caps.
How many horde waves do I have to beat to unlock the golden AK and DEagle? Or is it a 100% challenge completion? Stuck on the 180 sec Origin beat time in the last level and thought that a weapon upgrade could solve the problem.
i wish they would make it so you can play co-op thorugh a wifi connection instead of just bluetooth
