I agree with the populous. Not upgrading hardware is lame. Especially for touch owners that have WiFi and wanted a camera (like me) so we could take spur of the moment shots and upload them. The whole bit with turning it into a gaming platform is also quickly becoming another turn off. The ZuneHD is looking better for me as a replacement as my first gen becomes increasingly tired just to get away from all this stuff.

I will have to say Apple is really good at milking the fans tho, and getting them to pay 3x the amount for the same hardware that PC owners pay! My other alternative is to wait around like the others and see if a camera appears, but I've all ready decided not to get into the iPhone thing…

This is true the 3.0 update cost $10 and it still don't work very well I had alot of problems on safari and youtube and with the wireless conection.
We should get like a reward or a least the difference on an itunes card.

I don't really understand your comment.

I stated that Apple should have put a camera in the iPod touch. At no point did I state that they shouldn't have.

The argument from those stating that Apple didn't want to in order to differentiate iPhone and iPod touch, and that putting a camera in the touch would've led to a drop in iPhone sales is what I was arguing against. IMHO, people don't pick up an iPhone over an iPod touch because of the camera, but because one is a phone and the other isn't. Putting a camera in the touch isn't going to change that. And VoiP over WiFi doesn't change that fact either.

This always seems to happen to me, no matter how long i wait prices never drop…but as soon as i buy something, less than a week later it finally drops.

I have the 2gen touch with the $10 3.0 (bye the way, not worth it!)
I agree, If a cam came on the new one? I would buy it and pawn off this 2gen! but without any "big" update, like a cam. no point at all!
the best thing about the touch "to me" is wifi (news.tv,weather—etc)
and the movie and tv shows! as for the music, my 3rd gen nano works great for that! and easier to tote around! as for touch gaming?? lmao
it is horrible! unless its pacman or some game like that! i shelled out enough cash on games i thought would be fun! however, the touch screen and tilting the touch for gaming, is no fun! however, i do enjoy the bowling app! and its free! they should at least add buttons to the edge or something? anyway—peace!
