'Dark Nebula' – An Impressive Looking Ball Roller

Anders Hejdenberg, the lead designer of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, released a trailer for his upcoming iPhone game today.
Dark Nebula is described as a "skill-based action game" which appears to be a much enhanced take on the ball-rolling games we've already seen for the iPhone. Anders writes:
“The iPhone has always intrigued me as a gaming platform, both in terms of how you can interact with it as well as what it is capable of technically. So I felt quite compelled to try it out and see what we could do with it. It was a lot of fun to come up with a new game concept with a control mechanic that feels great on the device.”
Like many of you, we thought we were pretty much over tilt/ball rollers for the iPhone, but the gameplay video definitely got us interested:
The game will be released as a series of episodes with the first being 10 levels for $0.99. The first episode is expected in September.

This looks really, really fun. Day 1.
Count me as one of those not "over" rolling games on this platform. HydroTilt barely scratched the surface of what is possible, as this game clearly shows. Hopefully the developer thinks to implement a calibration option, as well as a sensitivity option.
Sadly, even if the game is absolutely stellar, there will still be those whining about the accelerometer controls because they themselves don't "get" how to control such games. These will be the folk requesting touch controls, thereby proving that not only don't they "get" how to control via motion sensing, but also the hook of such rolling games being the motion sensing itself. Bah!
Looks good, count me in!
Not sure how good the game will be but that video really does its job, especially the music.
Impressive presentation.
Ball roller or not, it looks like a lot of fun!
Ready to purchase this right now!
Production values are high and it is so nice to see games not looking half complete with gamers baying for blood and much needed updates.
I don't own any ball rollers on my phone. This will be my first.
… over ball rollers?
You're kidding, right?
HydroTilt XL is one of the very few games I've found myself still playing week after week.
wow, great trailer! This goes right in to my Iphone!!
Wow! Check out the similarities to the old classic Bounder on the C64 and Spectrum on the bouncy level. This looks like a killer.
roboman84, that was my first reaction seeing that bit:) bounder would be great on the iphone.
Over ball rollers? How many really well done ones are out there?
The sky's the limit with what can be done if someone gets creative.
The Dark Nebula video appears to be a good example and I am looking forward to it.
I will have to check out "HydroTilt XL" mentioned above, I haven't heard of that one…
OMG! I buy all ball rollers I can get my hands on.
This looks pretty much like the famous game Oxyd for dos. I liked it a lot and will buy this one for sure.
No offense EatKodosDaily & Ballpeen but I am totally suspicious of people who promote HydroTiltXL anonymously on game websites

Folks !!!
Before any comments try 'Jump' …
This game was released in december if i remember and its looks like classic boulder.
Very simple and smooth gameplay with really cute graphics.
ciao !
I like very much the GFX and Style, and seems really fun. If the game also add great puzzles will be great
.
Phenomenal editing on the trailer. I'm sold on that alone…and the $0.99 price point.
Pretty ominous name for a freakin ball roller. Great, now cool apps that better fit the name can't be used without copyright infringement issues….*sigh*
Who doesn'tlove playing with balls??
