The number of games being released on a daily basis for the iPhone remains overwhelming. Here are a few games that have generated positive reviews in our forums. Though we're not sure they all have universal appeal, they each offer a Lite version to try for yourself.

Mahjong Artifacts 2

Now here's Mahjong with style and a story mode. There's a lot to like about this game, though it's biggest flaw is the tiny size of the tiles themselves.

Mummy's Revenge

This Zombieville-like side scrolling shooter offers an Egyptian theme as well as an active development cycle. The latest version adds a number of weapons and upgrades as well as boss battles. Is it better than Zombieville? We're not so sure, but you can try it yourself.

Match 3D Flick Puzzle

Does playing Match 3 on a 3D Cube make it fresh and interesting again? You can decide for yourself. Tap on adjacent tiles to swap them while swipe to rotate the playfield around.

Zombieville is far superior to the Mummy's Revenge. Zombieville has more charm to it. All Mummy's did was copy their design, and make the graphics more realistic, but in the process, losing that charm. My opinion anyway. Zombieville for the win.

As for me Mummy's Revenge is more better. Zombieville have terrible controls (sometime lagging) and very boring.

Mummy's revenge may be a ripoff, and it may not even inspire me to purchase the full version, but it's vastly more interesting than Zombieville, IMHO.

What does "we're not sure they all have universal appeal" mean? There's not a single popular game in the App Store that doesn't garner both 5's and 1's. I would reckon that NO game has universal appeal - different strokes for different folks.

Mummy's Revenge is to Zombieville as Harbor Master is to Flight Control. They both added to the genre, and should be looked at as advancing gaming on the iphone, you celebrate these things you don't bash one or the other. All these games took creativity, talent, and hard work. Why hate or say such negative things.

If you don't like something, it would be best to explain yourself, say why you don't like something. It makes your argument stronger. Great job to all the developers, they are all great games, and at these prices you could own them all for less than $5.

Zombieville and Mummys Revenge are both great games, but Mummys Revenge has added a whole new level to the genre; new weapons, grenades, NEW BACKGROUNDS; plus it's updated regularly. Atleast try out the lite version, you may just fall in love with the game.

Having tried out Full version of Mummy`s revenge and the lite of zombiville, I have to admit zombiville scores on art and gameplay slightly better then Mummy`s revenge, but definitely not by much. Also once you consider the updates which have already been out for Mummy`s and the ones which are about the come, Mummy`s sound like a much better option to me. With the flying Mummy`s update, it could be an even better game.

I`d go with getting Mummy`s at 99cents sale price right now and zombieville later when it goes on sale.
