'Real Racing' Updates with 6-Player Wi-Fi, New Cars, and More

Firemint has released a major update to their Real Racing game today. Aside from the usual bug fixes, Firemint has added a number of new features:
- 6-player multiplayer over local WiFi network (previously 2 player only).
- New vehicle class with a distinct roar of a V12 engine with "unsurpassed speed and control with 12 new exotic vehicles"
- New game soundtrack with 10 original music tracks
- Career Mode additions: exotic vehicle qualifier and two new championships
- OS 3.0 iTunes Music Library picker
- New Control Method: Touch-Wheel-to-Steer, Manual Accelerate and Manual Brake.
The game originally came out in June and we loved it:
Real Racing sets a new standard for what to expect of racing games on the iPhone. Great graphics combined with a solid framerate make for an action-packed racing experience.

Oh boy! Can't wait to get home and try it!
This could become the MarioKart of iPhone!
Everyone will have it!
Version ?
It's version 1.0.1 I believe.
Wow this is great! It sucks they dont have WiFi at the academy of art…..
Great news to an already great game.
But will there be plans for Bluetooth gaming?
Did they fix their craptastic Ai that constantly ran you off the road. This is the most disappointing game that I was so excited to play. Bought the morning I could, played a few races and went back to NFS. If they make it so you can actually race in this game I would go back to it, but until then its the its the most over rated pile on the app store.
Since the first update you could pick if the AI hit you lots or not in the options, set it to low and they leave you alone.
New update is great, still learning how to handle the exotic cars. The change in music is the only complaint I have on the game now, the new music is no where near as good.
Do you mean an an actual real AI? What do you think they do in real racing (no pun intended)?
appropriate name
~ WHAT ABOUT NFS: Undercover UPDATE???????????!!!!!!!! ~
EA will never update even if their lives depended on it! Just purchased Real Racing and have to it's awesome! I love the Menu music!
For some reason exotic cars section is locked despite the fact that I unlocked all the other sections before. Does anyone know what I need to do to unlock it? Like I said I have completed all the other career challenges. Btw this game is the best racer IMO.
Okay, who has six guys around locally for playing Real Racing?!
What we need is the magic of global multiplayer…
LOL,
But you have a good point!
*Thumbs up*
Why are the menu buttons (especially the back button) so unresponsive now? I kept pressing on it and it takes several tries to click.
Exotic cars and events are locked for me, any ideas how to unlock it?
yea same thing is happening to me i have beaten all the way up to class A with only 1st places and still v12 class unlocked
ok ive figured it out you have to beat all of the ubermart challenge cba all of it and c and b have to be 1st place and a has to be 3rd or better then you unlock the v12 cars.
A perfect example of a company that listens.
Hey guys is there new tracks? And how much tracks is there in the game? And one stupid question,if i am in a wifi hotspot(Maybe home,is it working,i have wifi modem),the internet will be free?I know that the 3g is payed(Very expensive here,3 minutes 5 bucks:( ),but is the wifi free? Please someone, say me.
Now THIS is how you make an update. I rarely buy games (especially if there's no demo) because there's just too many of them out there and I'll probably purchase even less because the trend is soon going to be making money through downloadable content. I'll be sure to always buy firemint games though as long as they continue to be fun and NOT another world/number game
I find this series disappoonting.
They don't have any real cars and the graphics are boring.
I can't wait for the next need for speed.
Anyone get the impression EA likes to pay people to ramble in these forums about Need for Speed? Go back to your NFS forums peeps, this is where men talk about real mens racing!
Disclaimer: Former NFS fan who got sick of NFS becoming less NFS and more 2Fast2Furious like every other urban racer.
Still no "lite" version though. Sorry, but I refuse to drop £5.99 on a completely new game without at least trying it first.
Rob just buy it look at the reviews the game by far is the best racing game for the iphone.
Also TKO this ain't a Bathhouse.
Just purchased Real Racing today and it's awesome! best racing game out even better than NFSU!
I have gold on class C & B
and Just a bronze on the last muscle car series in "A"
How do I unlock exotics?…
I'm lost…
Wat am I missing?…
Does anyone know how to use the new iPod feature? I think I know how but I can't get the button for it to work. I absolutely love the new cars though.
just purchased real racing, i could not wait for a price drop, i doubt they will anyways the way this game is selling. I love the on screen touch controls.
Going back to NFSU! you crazy?! EA have not updated the game since release! and Firemint have updated twice now they have even added touch controls which really suits me to play this game.
Telling me going back to NFSU what a crap game. EA haven't done anything to that game not even added touch controls.
NFSU waste of £6.00 ( I know it's got a price drop it'll be £4.00? something like that anyway) cause hasn't been updated
Real Racing worth the £6.00? hell yeah!
Firemint are on fire and the game is mint! lol
This was already a fantastic game – the fact they've already released serious updates shows Firemint are top class developers
there's no need for a lite version of this as the reviews make clear that this is a truly great racing game
graphics great, controls superb, career mode is great, loads of racetracks and multiplayer
if £5.99 is too much for anyone for the above checklist then I don't think they recognise the concept that it is worth paying a little extra for quality
oh and the computer AI is great too – no idea what he odd complaint re that is about
This game is awesome. The graphic, music and most importantly the controls are great.
I lurve the menu music in this game! awesome!
I purchased this just in time for the weekend. I've been playing it a lot. Man it's fun. I didn't think the iPhone would be able to pull off a realistic racing game. And after all the slow frame rates I've seen on other stuff I was blown away by just how quick Real Racing is. Best fun I've had on the iPhone for many weeks.
Well worth the money, I say. ..have to find some more time to play it.
I purchased the game too. I wanted to wait until it costs 5,49 EUR, like i did with NFSU. But now I saw the "real update" from the real racing makers and I belive that EA never will provide such update. Now I think that this great game will not fall in price like the prices of the competitors.
I'm surprised about the game. Graphics are not as good as Fastlane, but the game is much more playable, making steering with Fastlane is impossible. NFSU has nicer graphics too, but far away from realizm.
My best racing game: Real Racing! Great!
Eh. It looks really good and Firemint is pretty awesome but I'll wait for Gran Turismo on PSP later this year. While I like the iPhone/iPod Touch and some of the games, nothing will ever beat a real portable gaming machine, like the PSP. Gran Turismo on the PSP looks simply amazing.
