Actually I managed to get it using AppSniper… The normal search never turned up any results but using AppSniper I was able to locate and download it… strange but hey, IT WORKS!!!

Sorry but it is NOT available in Australia… not from my iPhone, not from my iTunes… not from my coleagues iTunes and not from their iPhones…. tried it all, doesn't show up anywhere…

Well here is what I think. Gameloft is lowering their prices to introduce the games and the company to new comers to the iPhone/iPod Touch Family and also because they havem many new games coming out very soon, like Asphalt 5 and so this is the best opportunity for ppl to get to know the company and so on, just my 5 cents.

Perhaps in fact. You have a point here. But i dont think the one who buy for only one buck will not pay tomorrow for 10 bucks, 'cause the quality of the game is a real reason for that. Even for 10 bucks, it's a good price if the quality game is top notch.
Gameloft are never saying that the Appstore is not a good deal for them. And so EA…
Good Apps can sell with big price: Navigon for example…

I've tried X2, and I think Real Soccer 2009 runs circles around it.

For starters, X2 has a very poor user interface, complete with three unlabelled buttons, the functions of which you must simply memorize since there is no way at all of telling which one does what. Beyond that, I just didn't find the gameplay very enjoyable. Despite having an extra virtual "button", X2 actually has *fewer* moves, some of which (like double-tapping the D-pad) are needlessly cumbersome to execute. It's just not very well thought through.

I imagine Gameloft is not especially concerned about competition from X2 — it's the upcoming FIFA from EA (as in, the original title that Gameloft did their best to plagiarize — and don't get me wrong, they *did* do a good job of it) that they should be worried about.

I mean…there's people who are only ever going to buy for a buck. We know that. But there are those among the current group of consumers of HoS and RS09 at the $1 price point that may have bought it at $2 or $3. It might even have been a sizable contingent, and if so then that means Gameloft lost out on potential revenue there. The ones who would ONLY buy at a buck could've been had later is my point.

I'm not saying it's all doom and gloom, btw. I think people misunderstand my position because they think I'm trolling the App Store and iTouch/Phone as a platform. I'm not. I'm not saying that they (Gameloft and sellers of $1 apps) are absolutely wrong. All I'm saying is that I disagree with them, and have given my reasons for doing so.
