Coming from FDG: 'Kryzer Prologue' and 'Parachute Panic'

img_00041FDG Entertainment, the development group that brought us Bobby Carrot Forever, is expanding their horizons and is working on a couple of interesting new games for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The first is due any day now and is a simple shooter variant called Kryzer Prologue. The game involves flying in a circle while shooting the baddies, avoiding enemy fire and collecting the powerups. A gameplay video shows how it works. The game will debut at $0.99 and serves as the prologue to a 3D version which is in the works.

img_0012The second and perhaps more interesting game coming from FDG is one called Parachute Panic which seems to be trying to recreate some of the chaos-management that Flight Control so successfully implemented.

The game involves successfully landing skydivers into passing boats. Through simple taps you can deploy parachutes and with swipes influence their movements. The game also introduces a number of life-threatening obstacles including passing helicoptors, thunder clouds, shark infested waters and more.

This early Alpha preview shows the game in action. Details may change before the final release which is due in June. The game will be priced at $0.99.

I am so friggen pumped about kryzer its going to have a special place on my phone :) I just love the simplistic and perhaps obsessively addictive gameplay that it appears to offer. And at 99c, who can go wrong.

  • Dudehuge says:

I guess I'm already sold at Parachute Panic.

  • Future777 says:

    thanks!

We are still balancing Parachute Panic but the office highscore war has already started. You´ll love this game – it works really well!

  • Future777 says:

    @dogmeat: thanks to you, too!
I managed quite a good score already and uploaded it under my Future777 nick. Looking forward to your highscores :)

  • Playing the beta of Kryzer, I'm currently in 3rd place on the highscores list! :)
But I expect to be very quickly knocked out of that spot when the game hits the App-Store! :(

Oh yes, and that Parachute Panic game looks pretty cool too! ;)

    Too cool.

I was a Smokejumper in Alaska some twenty years ago, and I would very much enjoy a version with tall trees, wind, fire, water, air tankers, helicopters and often high altitude jumps where you pound in with a round canopy, but sail in with a standup on a square canopy (even though we weren't supposed to do that for safety reasons).

I'll be buying Parachute Panic for sure.

i will definitely be doing my first non pinball review with official dogmeat scorecard on this one.

  • Ravenblack says:

lmao @ parachute panic video. That is cute and funny. It reminds me of an old Game&Watch game, except that in that one you move the boat, not the parachuters. :D

  • BOB says:

This is CRAZY!!! Right now I'm working on a new idea for a app game-but one of my past idea back in January was a stick figure parachute game-It had the same concept-you would touch them to activate their parachute before they fall-there was objects; like the helicopter and lightning that would make it harder-Even the background was going to be graph paper-UHHHH This Makes me so mad-Now this company is making money off my idea!!!!

  • Ballpeen says:

    Can't wait for Parachute Panic.
That looks like a real hoot and will be great fun to show off to friends.

    That video is a riot!

  • craig says:

I actually laughed out loud twice during this demo-
Looks and sounds like a winner!

  • Future777 says:

I am really glad that the PP video receives such a great feedback. Thanks everyone! We´ll have the game ready soon when we are happy with all the finetuning.

  • Greg says:

Its almost worth buying for the goofy soundtrack…

  • TouchTouchDev says:
