Must not be a good sign if developers are building games with skipping frame rates and lag times. Maybe Apple should toss out those games so it doesn't lead to bad criticisms of the platform in general. I guess it's not a good idea in general to design games for a device that's not really a gaming device. For the few games I've had on my PSP, I've never noticed any skipping frames or lags during gameplay.

I don't get it Weirding ..I don't usually play it in portrait, but I had a good go at Ignition, SteelWheel, and Nightmare just now, on my iPhone3G (without resorting to airplane mode), and it was just fine. Saw a couple of lag-spikes, but nothing relating to the scrolling. That was smooth.

Yeah .. I'm puzzled about the choice of BeatBox too. Was this anyone's favourite? Nightmare is an awesome table, but a bit hard. Ignition is great too, but maybe appears to be too simple to give an accurate impression of the full game. And Steel Wheels is great, but IMHO just doesn't have the 'cool' factor of Nightmare or Ignition.

Maybe a Nightmare table, but time-limited play? I dunno. But hey, hopefully people will like BeatBox enough to buy the full game (which rocks) :)

Hi ! I have the paid game since day 1 (I owned the original on Amiga).
Worth the price, however the BeatBox is not my favourite. The best is Nightmare on my own.

Bobby : Lot of fun, lot of interactions (missions). I own other Pinballs (like the two Zen Pinballs) on my iPhone and spent few time on each ... except Pinball Dreams ! Don't hesitate !

I'll try the Lite version, but I'm holding out for Pinball Fantasies. IIRC it has more complex tables. (I enjoyed both Dreams and Fantasies on Amiga.)

I bought Wild West Pinball and Freeballin or whatever it's called and neither one was what i was hoping for. i guess i'll try out the light version of this one to see if it's any better. i don't want super hard pinball games, i want a fun game with a lot of objects on the playfield for the ball to interact with and no lame outs from wide gutters, etc.

Good game but you have to play in landscape otherwise you get lag spikes. Far too many times will it lag just before the ball gets close enough to the paddle and *wham* frame skips right into the gutter. The boards in Fantasies are really good, but if it's not possible to improve the framerate any more than Dreams, it could be a deal breaker.
