I think that micro transactions will help lots of developers, if they use it wisely. The only developers who will profit, is the ones who price at unreasonably low levels. For example, not many people will make micro transactions in assassins creed because it was so expensive. But if people payed 2.99 for the game and .99 for the next 10 levels until the game was up, the dev would get the same amount, but more people could buy it because of the low intro cost. Another example: if zen bound was 1.99 to begin with and each new level was .99, then those who love the game can buy more levels and maybe spend $10 for tons of levels and value, but those who don't like it, don't pay for new levels, and don't feel as ripped of.

You may be right, Tim, though I have a feeling that those paying $0.99 will still feel cheated because they didn't get the "full" game.

It can't be Toki Tori. It's already on WiiWare. If you read carefully it says:

" Plus we have a simultaneous release lined up for WiiWare and iPhone"

I don't get this zooloretto. So five players are competing? I'd rather have something like a zoo tycoon type of game. The iPod needs a few of those games even with non 3-d graphics as seen here in zooloretto. I'd buy a zoo tycoon game right away.

I seriously doubt Toki Tori is the "Rolando Killer." The game is barely like Rolando at all, and it's not 3D, nor would it make any sense for it to be that way. The Toki Tori they are working on is a port, right? Unless they are making a brand new sequel to Toki Tori I just don't see it fitting the bill. Not sure why it matters enough for me to post about it at this point... I guess it's getting late. lol.

Been thinking about it. A true Rolando killer..........with a 3D twist...........Wiiware related.............paid content with 3.0 features......

That sounds like Toki Tori. And the fact Chillingo updated their site with the Toki Tori characted in 3D in their front page at least for me confirms it.

To add onto the micro-transactions debate:

This micro-transaction thing could be good guys (although I can definitely see the downside). Since the AppStore is being with $0.99 games which are driving prices and production value down - micro-transactions just may save the platform.

Work with me here - So all the cheap-skates that think that games should be $0.99 no matter how much production time lasted or how high the budget was for a game can get in on the action. For those of us that want a premium experience (and already buy the better games for $4.99-$9.99 anyways) can pay the extra money and get more content.

So instead of dev's having to make a whole new game - which is more costly and time consuming - they can just charge $0.99-$2.99 for added features. This will keep OVERALL costs down and profits up.

You guys also have to remember that WE are the consumers - WE are the ones that determine the direction of the AppStore. If we don't buy games that rape us through micro-transactions then dev's will stop making them.
