EA's Need for Speed Racer Coming "Very Soon"

For those who are still waiting for Need for Speed from EA, the game is said to be launched "very soon" according to EA Mobile's Craig Law. A new screenshot (above) was released today.

Need for Speed has been delayed a couple of times and was originally on target for release late in 2008.

    Unless there are some awesome features in this game I will be passing on it.

    I know about the whole repeated delays and it frustrated me too but if this game plays as good as it looks it will be amazing. The graphics look great. It reminds me of Hot Pursuit on PS1--great game. Don't let me down on this EA!

    It's far too late, Screw EA. I'm more then positive this game will be total garbage, sense when has EA released a "Good" NFS game sense Most Wanted? EA over hypes every crappy game they make now and they always turn out to be a disappointment. It's only a mater of time before a company that actually cares about their games and fan base steps in and blows you out of the water! FIREMINT, step up show EA how to make a decent racing game, I'll be buying Real Racing way before I even give EA's garbage a test!

    Racing games on the IPhone sucks.
    And the design is terrible, why didnt't the port Hot Pursuit II on the iPhone?
    Or any other NFS Game with style (like the PC-Version of NFS: Porsche).

    Does 2xL supercross really lokk that cood. Say compared to fast and furious?

      Well it is a completely different game. Fast and Furious is more of an arcadey, action packed racer and 2XL supercross is more of a realistic supercross simulation (While still maintaining the fun). But in terms of graphics, 2XL is way more impressive. It makes F+F look like a gameboy color game, lol.

    I know the long wait is frustrating, as I am also waiting for this game since the original demo when introducing the ipod touch 2G. But the language in this forum is getting a little bit too lose. It’s right to be critical, but I do remember 2-3 updates on Sim City
    (unfortunately at that time I already lost interest in the game). The price had been super premium at that time, and it has dropped a few bucks since. Compare these prices to other game platforms.

    Monopoly has been pretty good as well, and I have seen much worse games in the AppStore (and unfortunately on my iphone then).

    Let’s hope that the wait has been worth it. I am the first one writing a critical comment if it proves to disappoint. And by-the-way, I don’t think that the graphics of the racer by Firemint is better, and yet, the final verdict will be once it has been released.

    And please stop being childish.

    i first got very excited when i heard about this in january, (i never knew about app games before) and was very excited when i heard they would release it in mid-march. once it got to that time i got kinda mad, but after hearing all the stories from before, i didnt care. i will still get it but just wont keep my hopes up. real racing graphics might be better. cant tell right now.

    p.s. for all those people talkin about 2xl, (which is kinda wierd to see under a nfs article) the graphics are as awsome as the pameplay and beats f&f graphics, even though the newest f&f game is BOSS!!!!
