Resolution Interactive, who brought us Clusterball Arcade, has today posted a gameplay video of a new iPhone title in development, Aqua Moto Racing.

Right now we have basically no deatils on this title, but the gameplay video looks rather promising and we wanted to send a heads up out to the iPhone / iPod touch gaming community.

When more details emerge, we'll bring 'em.

@Rocketman919: Forum thread? Post the link. Berkan emailed me. I was busy doing Real Life Stuff today and hadn't seen the thread. The link would be nice, though.

One thing clearly improved over Clusterball is the focal point for scenery drawing, which seems infinite here, but IMHO unacceptably close in Clusterball.

I'm so ready for this. I was wishing for a good Wave Race type game. I hope it's less than $5.

Now, would someone please make a Jet Moto?!

Looks pretty promising, though I think the controls could be a bit tighter. Get rid of the crappy generic butt rock soundtrack, too. Ugh. That's enough to put me off the entire game, I'm afraid.

I really didn't like Clusterball. And there are already a lot of racing game ridiculously similar to this. *sigh* when will the new ground be broken?

Wow, this brings back some memories of WaveRace64!

This just needs waves and the ability to change your angle of attack when in the air (and thus go underwater).

    ::fingers crossed::

The water looks just like a reflective plane, and not proper 3D water.

Polished, smooth and I love the feeling of summer it has written all over it. Touch controls and some variety in soundtrack and I'm in.

Wohoo! Bout time there was a decent waverace-alike game turn up. I'm hoping for something with some real waves going on there too, but for now I'm almost sure to get this. (Being a total waverace64 nut.) :)

please implement real waves, pleases IMPLEMENT REAL WAVES, goddamit.

hopefully it won't be like in wave blazer, where the water is going up and down like streets going over a hill.

Looks like NASCAR meets motorcross. Seriously horrible track design [an oval, really?], and to be expected considering their last game. Waverace 64 had interactive water, and judging from the vid, this game will have flash without function. The stunt buttons are just ridiculous, like I want a freaking menu to pop up the instant I get some air. Oh look how high I got off the last inconspicuos ramp! Oh wait, I was too busy furiously tapping stunt buttons that blocked my view.

The devs seriously need to go skydiving or something. You see a freaking google map when you're rushing at the earth at 130mph? No, the adrenaline rush is all about a minimalistic approach to a balanced in/out of controlled event. Too much control=boring (buttons oh my, it's a 99 cents menu tagged over my windshield); too little control=wow, how much playtesting did this go through? Not fun.

I was hopeful last time, but this time I'm being the pesimist. A lack of any real updates has formed that opinion. Besides, who else is going to point out the obvious instead of pining for gameplay. Prove me wrong, pretty please with sugar on top.

yeah, as mentioned in the Forum, gestures, perhaps similar to that of Star Wars: Force Unleashed, would have be a better way to implement tricks than the button menu.

@Aeroflux: hopefully, the oval is only one of the track designs. I agree that the paucity of updates in Clusterball, as well as a number of other issues was disheartening, but that was an eviscerated port of their PC title. One can only hope that with this iphone specific title, the developers will be more responsive to constructive criticism before and after the title is released.
