Both of those features are definitely on the way.

Not a save game function, per se, but a way to start from the random levels section, and a way to speed up the game from the beginning. It annoys me too!

I really like Blue Defense but please allow the population to 'grow' on the planet after each stage, just small increments and some sort of save game function because I'm tired of starting all over again each time. Thanks.

Oh, and I've just noticed that some people are misreading this article and assuming that Blue Attack will be $0.99.

I'll be selling Blue Attack for $1.99 – there's a lot more game crammed in there!

@Stan – Blue defense is being updated as we speak. It's getting sound, and a whole lot more! Sorry for no mini-update, Blue Attack was a bigger project than I anticipated, and I was held up a bit by the holiday season – too many Christmases!

@DKippy – you can use the accelerometer for movement, but there's a touch movement option as well. The buttons on the side are touchable, and activate powerups as well as controlling your wingmen.

@NotYou – it's not as simple as Blue Defense by a longshot – it'll take a little training to get used to, but it's definitely worth your while! There's a tutorial mode that you can use to learn the ropes if you need practice.

RPG leveling up in a multidirectional shooter is good. Games like Armada back on Dreamcast, and, further back, the Star Control games (oh how I wish they'd port Star Control II) shows that this sort of thing can work very, very, very well. And this game has a good sense of style. Possible first day purchase for me.
