and also...
@Mobile Hack
Do you realize that the same brilliant minds that made the metal gear solid series are usually changed from game to game, and I can 100% assure you that the genuises that crafted MGS 4 will not be spening their precious time working on a terrible iPhone game that is not going to sell. This is what they were thinking, they think they can make a million by having a picture of Solid Snake with MGS 4 white hair with a gun in a beautiful scene shooting with the tap of the finger at inanimate soldiers for probably under an hour. And they feel like this is going to do so well just because of the brand name no matter how bad the developers are that they hire to make this game. But they do not realize that iPhone gamers are very smart, and although some rejects fall into the trap of brand names, most of us look out for each other and protect one another from terrible games like this one.

OMG, When I first saw these screen shots and heard that they were making MGS for the iphone,I thought to myself, how on earth can this not be good, but after this update I was sincerely mistaken. But it does make sense, how can you move snake yourself freely around these masterly drawn artistic cameos. If this game is more than 5 dollars, I will probably not be buying it, but it will likely be $8. I think this will be a lot like Kroll. Hyped from day one, amazing screenshots, yet with the final product, in the first day it will be on the top 50 paid app list then slowly day by day as reviews and game play videos come out, the item will disappear from public sight unless thoroughly searching the app store. Therefore with no sales, turning off a great set of developers for life off of the iphone.

Perhaps they're just testing the waters to see if a real Metal Gear game would sell well on the iphone

Is this going to be a $.99 cent game? I know I wouldn't pay a penny more for it. I'm still trying to get through Brothers In Arms... and I only play on the effen train Konami! Come on, get with the program - step it up or quit making this crap - I think Electronic Arts is an example that proves lack of creative intuitive games are going to get you no where except lowering the price of you games.

Let me see if I'm getting this straight. Basically they're making a Metal Gear Game that's nothing like Metal Gear. Wow that's brilliant.

This game is bound to be at least slightly clever. Hideo Kojima's MGS has been doing innovative things in games ever since it made you do weird things with the playstation controllers way back with MGS 1 on PlayStation.

Eh...so it's a quick pick up and play game. Might do well, get some exposure, and maybe Konami will give a more full flavored offering down the line (which, if it happens will most likely, and unfortunately, be a port of the NGage game). That said...screw MGS. I'm hoping Konami translates and ports Kojima's Policenauts to the iPod touch/iPhone. Might as well port Snatcher as well while they're at it. Epic friggin' adventure game, Snatcher was. Policenauts is a spiritual sequel to Snatcher, one that was never translated. Konami should bring both over, seeing as how the platform seems to be tailor made for adventure gaming.

I haven't played much of MGS, but I know that it mostly consists of stealth operations- hiding, creeping up on guards etc etc. That's what I was expecting from this- just like the N-gage version.
I'll be the first to admit I like shooters, and I'll love a game where I can go round sniping etc etc, but MGS is not a fps at it's core.
This is an insult people, an insult!
