I thoroughly love this game. I also agree with all of WiseWeasel's suggestions. Especially this one: when units are on the move, they should realize that they need to defend themselves once attacked, instead of moving right along until they reach their destination. Especially when I have to do more things at once. I shouldn't need to baby sit the units entirely while on the move. :)

I'd also like the ability to root units to a specific spot or area. I want units to defend a specific building, but if something comes along they travel forward bit by bit, until my building is un-protected.

I can't beat the Hostile Takeover level! I've tried 25 times at least! I've tried the take over power generators method, build lots of mobile units method, many other combination methods, and no go. Once I had about 30 mobile shooters, and tried to just take all of them toward the headquarters, but they all died on the way, since they can't travel and defend themselves at the same time. SIGH.

This game is amazing. I love it! I'm super excited, enjoying it a lot, and I can't wait to see the improvements they make.

This is the second game for iPhone that I've actually found myself preferring over many computer games. (First was Galcon, which reserved the #1 spot on my springboard, but now that place is reserved for WI!)

Greg, it performs perfectly! I have only had it lag at all once, and only for 2 seconds or so. I'm very impressed by performance.

So how does this game handle, performance wise? I tend to turtle in RTS games and build up massive defense and pools of troops/units before I finally advance on the enemy.

With so many units on screen, when does it start to get sluggish?

Great game! Been playing it for a week now, and love it!

@nr: although the Palm version cost $20 (and is still listed as such, apparently), the difference is that the iPhone version will sell at a MUCH higher volume, so they can afford to offer it at a lower price.

And I agree with the other commenters' sentiments- graphics upgrade would be perfect!

This is Command and Conquer for the iphone. The story could use some tweaking, and maybe even some of the sprites. but very much the same as Command and Conquer. I don't even care there are no flying units. This game has stretched and challenged me in a way few iPhone games have. I LOVE THIS GAME!!

This game is freaking awesome. I bought it earlier this week, and I've already blown way too many hours on it, and still fiending for more. The implementation is quite good on this iPhone port.

If there are things they can improve upon, it would be the AI of your units. It would be nice if your units would stop going to their destination and defend themselves if they get attacked en-route, if defenseless units (like miners and dominions) could run away if attacked, and if your units could attack other in-range enemy buildings on their own once they're done attacking the one you told them to. Also, they might want to slightly decrease the size of the selection target on units, as when I try to send a unit near another unit, I too often end up selecting the other unit instead of marking the spot to move to, especially annoying when they're on opposite sides of the map.

Other than that, this game is extremely deep and well-implemented, and easily worth twice the asking price, making this purchase a no-brainer if you enjoy RTS games. The downloadable content in the form of additional missions makes the replay value on this game unbeatable.

I played this game's demo on my old windows mobile phone a while ago. It was pretty sweet then, but it is so much better on the iPod. Plus you can make your own maps! And its only $4.99, I think it was $29.99 for windows mobile!
