Upcoming Physics-based 'JellyCar' for iPhone
posted October 16th, 2008 2:09 PM CDT by Blake Patterson in Racing, Upcoming Games, iPhone games, iPod touch games
iPhone developer Walaber has given us a heads up on his upcoming iPhone game featuring soft-body physics, JellyCar.
Reminiscent of upcoming StuntBike for the iPhone (which is reminiscent of XMoto), JellyCar for the iPhone is a port of the developer's Windows and XBOX 360 original.
JellyCar is a driving/platforming game for both Windows and Xbox360. The game is about driving a squishy car through squishy worlds, trying to reach the exit. The game features soft body physics for all of the objects in the world. Also your car can transform for a limited time to aid progression through the level.
The initial iPhone release features 12 courses as well as a full 5-song soundtrack (or listen to tunes from your iPhone music library).
JellyCar has just been submitted to Apple and should soon be available as a free download through the iTunes App Store.

looks pretty good

This game and a lot of XBLA's offerings is really well suited for mobile devices rather than your 70" 120 Hz 4ms 1080p LCD TV. PSN's craptastic rub a dub will also work well on the iPhone, but what I would like to really see ported is PSN's The Last Guy.

@Dudehuge: Don't hate too hard on the PS3. Warhawk and Wipeout HD are my favorite games on any platform right now.

Neat. Original.

This does actually look pretty cool. I hope they hit the price point correctly, and if so, I'll be there on day one!

@blakespot
PSN's offerings are better than XBLA's, there I said it, suck it xbots.
NOOO!! I don't hate the PS3, I'm just saying that rub a dub is bad on the console

Just checked the app store for it, it's definitely there now. Get it while its free because I'm sure it won't be for long.
