It seems as though X-Plane for the iPhone/iPod Touch could really be a prime mover of iPhone sales if it becomes as deep an application as he intends it to become.

I can't wait to see this X-Plane Automotive even if it's just a driving sim of various high-end cars. I'd like something that has mountainous hairpin curve tracks and race tracks such as LeMans that you can drive for long distances and record the time it takes to complete the run (Pikes Peak, anyone). Then have a site where you could post your times and compete against hundreds of users around the world.

These people just keep finding new ways to kill productivity and the iPhone's poor little battery.

While im an FSX user i do respect Xplane and what they do. I am currently in love with the iPhone version of xplane and i look forward to any additions to it.

My only criticism is that the zoom resets when going to external view, it would be nice if it saved the zoom value along with the view angle. Its mildly annoying to have to zoom out every time i switch to it.

Again great job this is definately big, i look forward to more crafts and perhaps more locations (hint, grand canyon) =)

It needs to be front paged to Macrumors.

one other thing to note is that an update to x-plane for iPhone (9.01) has been released to the app store, and will be available in a few days. You can visit the x-plane for iPhone website to see the new features in x-plane v. 9.01. It doesn't add anything like planes or airports though. The x-plane for iPhone website also has a very interesting story about how x-plane was made and the developers trip to apple hq to make it.
