But when I say polish, I'm not talking about bleeding-edge graphics; I'm talking about ingenuity and depth. I thought I was pretty clear about that in the last post.

All I'm saying is, there are enough "simple" time-wasters already available. Hell, I can balance a ball on the back of my hand to get that kind of kick.

I simply feel that, like our brains, the platform is capable of so much, and we're only seeing 10% of that capability being exploited.

I'm not a "graphics whore"; I simply hate to see wasted potential. I guess the app store is still young, after all.

icepulse - you just have a different view of things. For some of us we are actually pretty tired of the emphasis on graphics. The Papi games succeed in part because they toss graphics out the window. They are incredibly simple, and yet addicting.

I feel what you're saying, and I'm sure the game is entertaining. I was semi-kidding, but semi-serious, as well. I just look at a collection of what now amounts to about 650 games, and I feel underwhelmed, that's all I was saying. I like to post overzealously. Hey,

I LOVE "N+" for the DS, and that's hardly the most ambitious title on the system, polish-wise. One of my all-time favorite titles is "Worms", which is decidedly "lo-tech" by any modern standard. But it's the innovation of a title like that which I find most impressive. That kind of creativity is roundly lacking on this platform, thus far. How about ONE solid strategy title that isn't chess? Ever see "Metal Gear Ac!d" for the PSP? THAT is innovation. I know this l'il feller has the muscle of a Dreamcast; I just have lofty hopes.

My friend's 2-year-old son calls his grandfather "Papi". For this reason alone, I can't stop laughing while playing PapiJump. :D

Papi Games are my most played games (out of many free and paid) on the iPhone. For a fan of high score battles on classic arcade machines, nothing brings the style and joy like Mr. Papi. It just makes everybody smile. My friends keep asking for my phone saying, "alright one more Papi."

can't wait for Sunflat's Jump Plus so i can give em a buck.

@icepulse
You bitch that these megacorporations are not democratic enough, now that Apple is doing the right thing by atleast lessening the tight grip it has a bit so that everybody can enter, you bitch again. Make up your fucking mind. The AppStore is not perfect but this freedom is great for everyone.
