You say that this company specializes in porting old games via emulation. Since Apple doesn't allow emulation on the iPhone, what is the company doing about it?

I also agree with MooCoo. Unfairly locked out? Bah. Support Apple and buy a Mac.

I was hoping for more titles in the article. A friend of mine had an old arcade style machine that he gutted and put a monitor and tower inside. He rigged the interface to allow the gaming controls to run the game and had a selection of 75 or so title in one old stand up box, including things like Missile Command, Gyrus, Galaga, Centipede, Frogger, Mr. & Ms. Pac-Man, Food Fight, etc. He put it on wheels and could take it to parties. I'm excited to see what titles DotEmu comes out with.

How unfairly locked out of the game could indie developers be? A basic Mac mini is only $599. The iPhone dev kit is also only $99 per year.

I'm pretty sure the dev kit for consoles aren't free either, probably requiring more expensive hardware and software, too.

I love the look of that platformer. What's nice of these retro ports is that you know that these are full titles. Not just one-off titles that have very little depth to them. Like Vay, there's a lot of gameplay value.

For a platformer like this though, I hope they can figure out a good control system.
