iPhoneStudio posted a teaser page about one of their upcoming iPhone game projects called Light Bikes which is clearly inspired by Disney's classic movie Tron. For those not familiar with the movie, you can watch the light cycle scene from the original movie.

Gameplay is described:

The point of LightBikes is to outlast the other opponents. The longer you survive, the more points you will get.

As you ride your LightBike it will leave an Energy Trail behind it that neither you nor your opponents can pass. You will need to out maneuver your opponents while making sure you donÕt end up in a wall.

The game also promises Wi-Fi multi-player for up to 4 people. No word on how controls will be implemented, however.

iPhoneStudio is the same team that brought us FLOverload. Their projects page also reveals plans for a Mobile MMO called Dark Age of Reality which will integrate GPS positioning, similar to Parallel Kingdom.

Thanks Barnsey

Do these guys not have an original idea in their heads?

FLOverload is just a ripoff of the Bioshock hacking minigame, and now they're ripping off Tron and Midway (who made the original Tron arcade game).

I'd like to see more original games like Critter Crunch, Enigmo, and the PuzzleManiak games.

Hey Guys, it's Mike from DS Media Labs again.

In response to Jonny_eh; I do hear what your saying Jonny_eh, it's just that like i said before in a post under the FLOverload article is that we are all gamers ourselves, and the games we are developing are games WE want to play and see on the iPhone, we just hope others will enjoy them as well. Take my word for it, we do have some great game ideas in the works that are 100% original.

In response to Arn; So are we Arn, so are we, in our development team we are already talking smack to one another saying how once this game is done we are going to... "Put each other in the wall..." lol

And once again, many thanks to toucharcade for the great article. You guys ROCK !!!

from playing pc based light cycle "clones" and other games i know that towards the end of the game it calls for some PRETTY tight handling. is this going to be all accelerometer controlled? i can see that being really frustrating at times.

In response to mikeadams; Our initial thought is yes, but so far nothing is 100% set in stone. We are really pushing for this game to be polished so we are going to be doing A TON of Beta Testing to make sure everything works and handles well.

If your interested mikeadams, and actually to anyone else who is interested in helping us beta test this game and others as they get closer to completion, please visit http://iphonestudio.dsmedialabs.com/contact.htm and fill out the contact form selecting "Beta Tester" as the Reason For Inquiry.

We most likely will not have anything to Beta Test for a few weeks but like i said before, we want this game to be FLAWLESS in every way. So with a little help from our end users we feel we will get out a game that everyone will really enjoy.

    Thanks

I applied to be a beta tester but i haven't gotten any confirmation, so will i just have to wait until you need beta testers? BTW the boxing game looks great. Arn you should do an article about that. It's called "The Boxer" i believe. Kind of like wii sports boxing.

Yes Rocketman919, we pretty much store all the requests we get and once we have the game to the point it can be Beta Tested we will send you an email. I would say most likely it should be in the next 2-3 weeks.
